Rainbow Dash's POV

Rainbow Dash woke up and quickly changed into pants and a long sleeve shirt. She woke up Scootaloo and put on her socks and boots while Scootaloo got dressed. They walked over to where Diana, Daydream, Cloudchaser, Applejack, and Applebloom were just finishing setting up to make breakfast. "Good morning," said Rainbow as she walked over to the table near the cooking campfire. She got out a frying pan, a cutting board, a fork, a knife, a pair of tongs, three small bowls to hold ingredients, a medium-sized plate, and a mixing bowl out from the box under the table and set them aside for later after placing a couple paper towels on the plate. Rainbow walked over to the enchanted cooler and pulled out eggs, shredded cheese, precooked sliced ham, and bacon. "What are you doing?" asked Diana, watching her curiously, since she said last night that she would be making breakfast.

"Making my own breakfast because I have trust issues when it comes to eating food made by other people, and I didn't want to offend you by casting every detection spell I know before eating whatever you planned on making," said Rainbow without glancing up from where she was cutting up the ham into tiny cubes. "Is that what you were doing every time we ate out somewhere?" asked Scootaloo. "Yeah," said Rainbow, "Since I know it will be at least two hours before everyone else starts waking up, do you six want any of what I'm making?" "What are you making?" asked Daydream. "Bacon, ham, and cheese omelets," said Rainbow, putting the cut-up ham in one of the small bowls.

Daydream, Applejack, and Diana were okay with that and went to sit down to watch her cook. Rainbow noticed that Scootaloo and Cloudchaser looked hesitant and said, "You two can try mine, and if you don't like it, I'll make you something else. Does that sound okay?" The twins nodded and went to sit with the others to watch. Rainbow filled a second small bowl with shredded cheese before putting the rest of the bag of cheese away. She placed the frying on the fire to heat up while she removed the bacon from its package and separated the slices. Once the pan was heated up, she placed the bacon in the pan. Rainbow kept an eye on the bacon while she started cracking three large eggs into the mixing bowl. She quickly whisked the eggs with the fork and set the bowl aside. Rainbow then used the tongs to flip the bacon.

While the bacon finished cooking, Rainbow got out seven plates, forks, and a spatula. "Hey Scootaloo, do you want to help?" asked Rainbow, glancing over at her. "Yes, please," said Scootaloo quickly, walking over. Under Rainbow's clear directions, Scootaloo used the tongs to transfer the bacon from the pan onto the paper towel covered plate. Rainbow poured the eggs into the still-hot pan and supervised Scootaloo chopping the bacon. Once the bacon was chopped, Scootaloo transferred it to the remaining small bowl. When it was time, Scootaloo added the cheese, bacon, and ham to the eggs. While Rainbow finished making the omelet, Scootaloo started cracking and whisking the next batch of eggs. Working together, they quickly and efficiently finished the rest of the omelets, which Scootaloo and Cloudchaser ended up loving.

After breakfast, Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo decided to go on a walk, and Rainbow grabbed her camera as they passed their tent. They took pictures of all the interesting plants and animals they saw. An hour later, they headed back towards the campsite and stumbled upon a stream halfway back. They spent two hours in the stream, splashing each other, laughing, and just having fun. When they finally climbed out of the stream, they sat on a nearby rock to rest and drink some water and eat the sandwiches Rainbow had brought with them. "Thank you," said Scootaloo, giving Rainbow a grateful look. "For what?" Rainbow asked, tilting her head in confusion. "For letting me come with you on this trip," said Scootaloo. "It was nothing, Squirt. You're fun to hang out with," said Rainbow, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her close. "You're the best honorary big sister ever," said Scootaloo as she snuggled into Rainbow's side. "And you're the best honorary little sister ever," Rainbow said softly, as she smiled gently at the young princess curled up against her side.
