What To Do?

About half an hour later, I'm back in my Victor's Village home. Peeta went back to his house after dropping me off so that I can get showered and into actual clothes instead of the hospital gown I wore.

I get dressed in a light orange blouse tucked into white crop pants and gold sandals, and walk downstairs to eat some decent food. Peeta was there making some stew that smelled amazing, and I heard my stomach growl.

"Someone's hungry, huh?" Peeta says, turning round to face me. My face heats up as I walk closer to him with my arms crossed. I lean against the island and just stare at him as he stares back at me. A smile creeps up onto my face and I let my arms loosen a bit. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door.

"Hey, sweetheart. Just came over to check up on you. The boy told me to in case he couldn't," Haymitch says and sees Peeta in my kitchen. "Oh. Well, he's here, so I'll just be going now." He starts toward the door but I invite him to stay. Judging by the pot Peeta has out for the stew, even with us three eating, there would still be plenty of leftovers.

Haymitch and I are sat at the table and Peeta brings over the pot to serve us all up some stew. When I see what it is, I tear up a bit. It's the stew with plums from the Capitol that I told Peeta I liked. He made this for me.

"Katniss, are you okay? Is there something wrong with it? I can make something else if you want," Peeta says.

"No, there's nothing wrong. You... you remembered that I loved the lamb stew from out first Games, that's all," I say with more tears gathering in my eyes. He remembered something from the Capitol and it didn't cause another flashback. I look up from my bowl and see Peeta looking at me and blushing.

"You two can just stop flirting. I'm trying to eat here," Haymitch says. That just causes Peeta and I to get redder in the face, and I return to eating my stew, not daring to look up other than to steal quick glances at Peeta.

Right as he's finished eating, Haymitch leaves my house and its just me and Peeta again. All I want to do is tell him about the life I dreamt up. The life where we were married and had kids. Where we went through so much, but it was so worth it. Because if we hadn't, we wouldn't have been where we were. But that might scare him off. I don't know how it hasn't yet, considering I told him the basics if what happened, but I want to tell him every detail. What the rebuilt bakery looked like, what out wedding was like, our almost two children. Everything.

"Katniss." A voice brings me out of my daze and I look over at Peeta. He looks at me with his bright blue eyes that are a darker hue than normal. I've never noticed that his eyes change the intensity of colour when he's deep in thought or passionate about something.

"Katniss."

"Hmm?" There I went again, getting distracted.

"I asked if you wanted to do something today," Peeta says, laughing slightly.

"As long as I can spend my day with you, I'm willing to do anything," I say.

"How about we stay here and you tell me about how we were married. I want to hear every single thing that you dreamt up. Because Katniss, I want to make that happen. Not exactly the same way, but you seemed so broken when you woke up, that I know it must've been the happiest you've been in years, or even ever."

He never ceases to amaze me with his words. And the fact that he wants to hear what happened in my wonderful dreamland makes it even better. Because that's all I want. I want him to know what made me happy, and maybe in real life, I can be happy again. With no Games to taint right now or my future. No more rebellions to fight. The only thing I have left to fight for is my boy with the bread. My Peeta Mellark.

A/N: Man. I'm just getting better at the writing thing. This actually helps me not stress out nearly as much, so I might be updating more often. But if I fail my tests because of you and don't graduate, I've got you guys to blame. Just kidding. You guys rock.
