I packed my belongings and stuffed it into my locker and made my way to the pool. The bright lights above the opening made me squint my eyes a bit, until I just got used to it and looked around to find the guys. They waved from the entrance of the locker room, awaiting me to join them. "You guys ready?" I gave them a thumbs up. "Well I guess-" Makoto was interrupted suddenly when Haru dove into the water. Both me and Makoto watched as he swam gracefully through. "Haru! You could've waited!" Makoto shouted. I laughed and jumped in after I saw Haru go into the respected lane. "Y/N!!! Oh com'on guys!!" Makoto yelled as he pursued to dive in right after. I rose above and slicked my h/c hair back. "Alrighty boys, what are we thinking? Butterfly? Backstroke? F-" "Free. I want to race in free." Haru said sternly. I looked at Haru with flames in my eyes. There was something about challenge that I eagerly wanted. "Oh? Me racing the beloved Haru Nanase? You're on." I said, giving the man a determined look. Makoto sighed and went to the starting point. We got out of the water and positioned ourselves on the pedal stool. "Just because I'm a woman, don't go soft on me." I smirked at Haru. "Who said that?" He said in a keen voice. I giggled. "Ready guys?" Makoto said as he raised his arm. "Ready as I'll ever be." I said under my breath. "Set!" I gripped onto the edge of the stool. "GO!" Makoto lowered his arm in a fast motion.

Both me and Haru instantly dove off of the stool and into the water below. My heart pounded with every stroke of the water. It was like racing a dolphin at this point. I kicked my legs as hard as I could, still keeping a calm composure as I swam with no intention of losing to Haru. We kicked off of the end and raced back to the starting point. I could hear Makoto cheer the both of us on. The wall was so close, it almost felt like I could reach it out. Now! I slapped my hand onto the wall and raised my head out of the water. My hair gracefully flew out of my face and landed on the back of my neck. I looked to my right to see Haru breathing heavily as I was. He noticed my gaze and looked at me with soaking black hair and those cobalt eyes. I started giggling at the thrill to race my best friend in the water. "Ah that was a close one, I'll say." Makoto yelled as he made his way to the edge of the pool and leaned down in front of us. "Well?" I breathed in and out heavily. Makoto raised his hand and made a shrinking gesture. "Just by a hair,  Haru beat you." He said with his signature smile on his face. I punched the water with my hands. "No!!!!!" I said sarcastically while giggling. "I told you I wouldn't hold back." Haru smiled. "Ah, I need to practice more!" I said with a fire inside of me. Haru got out of the water first and Makoto lent me a hand and I took it while getting out. "Thanks Makoto!" I smiled. "You did a good job though!" He reassured me. "Like I said, I just need to practice more!" I gave him a determined fist. "What you need to do is not race Haru Nanase." A deep voice said.
