I turned around from facing Makoto to face the mysterious voice. A man who looked to be the same height as Haru stood by the entrance of the bleachers. His form was over casted by the shadows of the bleachers until he began to move forward. When he was out of the darkness I could see he was wearing a black cap and had on a gray shirt and black jeans. I watched as his silver dog tag swayed with each heavy step the man made. He had his head down to the ground and his hands were in his pockets. He stopped about a meter away from us, his head still looking at the ground. I tried approaching the man but Haru stepped in front of me. "What you need to not do is scare my friend, Rin." Haru said. Rin? I thought. "Oi, Haru, do you know this man?" I asked from behind him. "I was being sarcastic, Haru. Say hi wouldn't ya?" The man spoke. I watched as he revealed his face. Lifting up his head the man before me seemed so familiar but, where would I remember him from? He had dark cherry-red eyes and ruffled hair that matched with it. Rin smiled as he portrayed his sharp teeth, he kinda looked like a walking shark to be honest. He grinned at Haru but then his eyes averted from his to mine. I could feel an intense stare come from him, almost as if he wanted something from me. "So this is why you've been ignoring my calls...Haru I didn't know you had a girlfriend!" He said in a more normal tone. "Eh- no she's not my girlfriend, sorry Y/N, I didn't mean no offense." He looked back at me with those blank cobalt eyes. "Oh no offense taken Haru." I gave him a thumbs up. "Actually how do you guys know each other?" I asked. Rin walked forwards towards us, I looked up at the man and tilted my head in curiosity. "Y/N this is Rin Matsuoka. He went to elementary school with me and Makoto then left to go to another elementary school in the USA for a while. Then came back to finish his highschool years at-" "Samezuka Academy!" I interrupted Haru. They both looked at me with confused eyebrows. "You were one on the top male swimmers at the highschool! I think I remembered seeing you at the meets. Wait actually...""Ah Y/N you're so cool!" "Wow you did an amazing job Y/N!" "I need to practice more to be just like you!" The other girls on my team complimented me to no end. "Ah, guys, no need to make me a blushing mess." I said. "Tch, you really think you could pull it off and make it to nationals?" A voice said. The girls stopped and backed away from me. Turning around I was faced with one of the male swimmers. "Uh who are you?" I asked with my hands folded over my uniform jacket. "Not important. What's more important is that you shouldn't continue your dream. Give up." The taller man walked into my shoulder and almost threw me on the ground. Luckily I had good strength in my legs and avoided the fall. "Hey!" I yelled in anger. I watched as the man walked away with his hands in his pockets. All I could see was the back of his head and the familiar Samezuka logo on his jacket.
"Y-you're that guy from highschool! Y-you said that I should give up on my dream during one senior match!" I pointed my index finger straight in his face. Rin leaned back in confusion. "Huh? I don't remember saying that to you." He said in defense. The others looked back at Rin. "Was that true? Did you really say that to Y/N?" Haru said in an annoyed voice. Rin stuttered to find his words while looking at everyone and back at me. "Rin....you want to know how I felt after you said those exact words to me." I spoke quietly while looking at the ground. The guys all got quiet. "I would practice day after day, just having that sentence play on repeat in my head over and over. I've grown stronger and more willingly to compete for the best of the best. I should thank you for making me the person I've become but, right now I think you know what's about to happen." I looked up at Rin with determined e/c eyes. "H-Hey Y/N you'll get us kicked out!" Makoto ushered at me. I raised my arm and Matkoto flinched at the action that I was about to make. "Rin Matsuoka, I, Y/N, challenge you to a race...in free." I pointed my finger at him once more. Makoto loosened his eyes and looked up at me and Rin. "Y/N," Haru said with wide eyes. Rin blinked and started to giggle. Suddenly I pushed Haru out of my way and grabbed onto Rin's collar and pulled the man down to my height. "If I win you have to apologize to me." I was inches away from colliding our foreheads together. "Is that so? Well then, if I win I get to take Haru for the weekend. That's what you get for not saying anything to me about coming here, Haru!" Rin eyed Haru in the corner. "That's enough just start the race before they kick us out for disagreement!" Makoto kept pleading in the back.
I made my way to the pedal stool and took my stance. I looked over at Rin who just stood there eyeing me. "Well?" I said. Rin bit his lip and licked the top of his teeth before giving me a smirk. "I didn't plan on swimming." He said. Rin took off his cap and threw it off to the side. "H-hey." I stuttered. He then began to trail his hands to the hem of his shirt and swiftly took it off to reveal his muscular body. I felt my face get flushed as I stared intensely at his form. I didn't understand why I was heating up, I've seen many other guys shirtless before! Even my best friends! So why was this different? Then he unbuttoned his pants. "H-HEY!" I quickly stood up but lost my balance on the stool. I yelped when I felt my body hit the water. I could hear a muffle call of my name before I felt the water pull me down without a warning. The corners of my vision started to get black and then the entirety of the bright lights became enveloped with darkness.
