I turned to Jay one night before we went to bed, "what if we just had the wedding in the garden? There's plenty of space and we have a ballroom that we never use. It'll save us a ton of money."
He turned towards me and I amended my previous statement, "unless you want to get married in a church. I'm not religious but I respect your beliefs."
He shook his head, "no, the garden sounds great. It'll be more personal and is definitely better than a church because we would need a venue afterwards too."
I kissed his cheek as I settled beside him and he pulled me closer before we fell asleep.
About two weeks have passed since the engagement and wedding planning was in full swing. I never knew how stressful it would be on top of my usual job but it is a welcome respite from what I normally am forced to deal with. That's when the doorbell rang and I wondered who it was.
Low and behold, it was my entourage of bridesmaids. I had decided on Natalie as my maid of honour and Hailey and Kim as my bridesmaids because they were the people closest to me.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked confused.
"We're here to whisk you away for a day of fun," Hailey grinned, "first we have a relaxing spa planned and later, a night out."
"Guys," I admonished, "nothing too crazy, alright?"
"Don't worry," Kim winked, "the boys have something planned for Jay as well."
I shook my head but agreed.
The spa was extremely relaxing along with the complimentary massage which was something I desperately needed recently. We enjoyed our margaritas as we ascended into a state of total bliss.
I was glad I had a driver to bring us all back because we were in no state to drive. The margaritas seemed to wash down all too well, leading to a pleasant buzz going on for us. I collapsed on the bed as soon as I reached it.
