Chapter 10: Confession

Sunday: 3PM

Its been about a week since me that Nightcrawler guy broke my leg. And still no sign of recovery.

Lucy was asleep on the couch next to me, and Akira was off to find something to help me get around. Until then, im stuck in here with Lucy.

About 5 minutes passed as I was staring at the ceiling, bored as hell. Since I couldnt walk around, I couldnt get up and get a book to read or anything, and I dont wanna wake up Lucy either.

So I just stared at the ceiling for another 3 minutes, until thats when boredom took over. I shook Lucy a little bit, not to much, just enough to wake her up.

Lucy slowly opened her eyes, and rubbed them a little bit. She then turned to look at me.

"Ugh... what is it Lucas..." Lucy said with a tired voice. "Hey, can you go grab a book for me?" I asked her, her expression went from normal to annoyed right after i said that.

"Really? Thats why you woke me up? You wanted a book?" Lucy asked me. "Uh... yeah..." I responded. Lucy gave me a bit of a glare, and then said: "Ugh, fine..."

She got up off the couch and went to the bookshelves, just to grab a random book, and tossed it at me. She then plopped back on the couch.

"Dont wake me up for anything stupid like that again." Lucy snapped. I looked at her in confusion.

"Why are you so annoyed? You were asleep for like 15 minutes." I asked, Licy gave me another angry glare. "I was having a good dream damnit!" She yelled, swiping at me. I looked at her in fear.

She then let out a long sigh, "Im sorry Lucas... its just the way Nightcrawler treated me when he was holding me captive..." she said with a sad tone.

I looked at her, not saying anything. I then put a hand on her shoulder. She looked at me, a bit suprised. "Lucas, what are you-"

"Hey, its ok Lucy." I responded, "We both wanna leave, and we both wanna see the light of day again." I continued. She just looked at me, without saying anything.

I continued to talk,"Judging on how you act, and how you dress, I have a feeling that the other Gootrixians treated you like shit." I said. "But im not a Gootrixian, I wanna leave as much as you do."

Lucy just looked at me for a little bit, but then I started to see a tear fall from her eye.

"Lucas... youre right..."

Lucy started to talk again. "Ever since I was created, the other Gootrixian treated me poorly, mainly because I started to get into reading, and learning." She said.

"Even the humans noticed I was different from the rest, and they helped me in my struggles..."

I didnt talk, I waited for Lucy to finish.

"They gave me my own lessons evwry day, and even taught me human language at a young age... but the other matured Gootrixians didnt like that."

I still didnt say anything...

"The other younger Gootrixians bullied me, because I was the one who could talk, and even the adult Gootrixians got in on the 'Fun'"

I started to see even more tears fall from Lucys eyes.

"Nightcrawler, being the oldest, didnt like me, and has the other Gootrixian torment and tease me every day after I was done with my private lessons..."

"And when the Containment Breach occured, I was attacking and successfully infected a few humans..."

"Lucy..." I said, but she kept talking.

"But after I was about to infect another one, I took a second to think about what the humans have done for me..."

"How they stood up for me, how they helped me with my studies on the outside world... and thats when I decided to spare him, and guide him to the exit..."

"Unfortunately, Nightcrawler saw it all on the cameras, he was watching them for his own entertainment."

"After we infected "everrybody" He scouted me out, and scolded me for helping the humans, our "enemy" in his eyes."

"I tried my best to reason with him, but he didnt listen, and picked me up by my neck. He then proceeded to throw me across the room."

"A few Gootrixians went to check if I was okay, but Nightcrawler threatened that if they tried to help me, he would do the exact same thing."

I was at loss for words, I couldnt believe what these guys did to their own kind... to think that Lucy had to endure this her whole life.

"After that, I left, and cut all contact with Nightcrawler, but this just made him even more angry, so angry to the point where he tried to find me himself..."

"And he did..."

"Lucy, I didnt know-" I was once again cut off by Lucy.

"When he was unsuccessful, he destroyed my reasearch on the outside world, and when I came back to it, I was distraught."

"I cried, harder than ive ever cried before, and thats when I hit my breaking point...."

"I started killing Gootrixians who hunted me, and avoided Nightcrawler at all costs."

"I had nobody, I was useless, until I met you..."

Lucy finally stopped ranting, and started to cry.

She was crying hard, I didnt know what to do. But then, she looked at me, tears still in her eyes. "Lucy, I... had no idea that-" She interrupted me again, but this time, not by speaking.

She gave me a big hug, and started crying again, this time into my shoulder. She didnt let go, not even once.

Eventually, I started to feel guilty, to think that I would hear such a big confession from someone...

Lucy didnt let go of me for a long time. Until eventually, she stopped crying into my shoulder, which was now soaked. She then sighed, and finally let go of me.

"Im sorry Lucas, I just... needed someone to vent to, someone to listen to me..." Lucy said, in a more normal than said tone.

I didnt say anything, I just looked at her in silence, she sighed again. "Now that Ive said all that, I feel a lot better..."

"Thank you for listening to me..." She eaid to me again. But after that, she just laid back down, and fell asleep again.

I didnt even read the book she gave me, I was just sitting there, in shock... I decided that it would be a good idea to get some sleep as well...

But i just stared at the ceiling again for a bit... thinking about Lucys past, and then, I closed my eyes, and went to sleep.
