Chapter 24 ( Application)

Yuichi POV

I showed the sand siblings from places to other places in the leaf village and coincidentally, there's a festival at the center of the town, Baki-san and Kankuro ran off to who knows where with Temari-senpai running after them(Before that, she gave me back Kuro, who's now just lazily sitting on my head). Me and Gaara are just sitting on the bench 

"So, how are you Gaara?" (Y)
"Could be better"(G)
"...The people still treating you the same?"(Y)
".....yeah"(G)
"Ignore them, you'll always be my friend no matter what."(Y)
"Thanks....Eve."(G)
"Huh?"(Y) Shocked
"You're the 'eve of all the servamps' aren't you?"(G) With a small smirk
"H-h-how'd you know that?"(Y)
He just smiles, then stands up, "Let's go find the others, I'm tired." Then he walks off. "Wait, Gaara. How do you know that?" He just ignored me. 

Timeskip 

We manage to find the others after a few minutes of walking, prior to Kankuro yelling about him kept losing at some games. I took them to where they are staying, Said goodbyes to them, and walk back home. 

But then Naomi (My crow) landed on my shoulder while yelling "YUICHI HYAKUYA IS REQUESTED TO THE HOKAGE'S OFFICE." Over and over.

"Quiet, someone gonna hear you." Luckily that made her stop yelling.

"Why would grandpa want me at this time?" I mumble while running to grandpa's office. 
I arrived at Grandpa's office and knock on the door. I hear a small 'come in' then I open the door. Inside there's Kaka-sensei, Ayumi-sensei, Grandpa, and Iruka-sensei.

"What's going on here?"

Grandpa coughs a little, "Well, Yuichi. We want to ask you a few questions if you don't mind?"
"I don't mind."

"Yuichi, do you think your friends are capable of participating in the Chunin exam?"

"Yes, but if you're still doubting their skills" I glance at Iruka-sensei, "You can give them a test to see if they're capable of participating or not," I answered. "Alright then, Iruka you can do the test. And Yuichi, don't tell anyone about this, especially your team."

"Yes sir"

"Dismissed" I walk out of the building until "Yuichi, wait up" I look behind me and see Ayumi-sensei. "I hear you went to a B-rank mission, are you okay?"
"Sensei, I did all three S, A, and B Rank missions on my own."
"I know, but you're still a kid, Yuichi. You shouldn't burden yourself."
"*Sigh* Fine...anyway, I gotta go home. It's already late."
"Right...Goodnight Yuichi"
"Goodnight Sensei"

We go on our separate way. On the way home. Someone block me from walking any further. And lo behold Its Menma. Great.

"What do you want, Whiskers?"
"Stop calling me that."
"Nah"
"*Sigh annoyed* How did you know them?"
"Who?"
"You know who."
"I still don't know who you're talking about." Out of nowhere, Menma pushes me to the nearest wall. My back is stinging with pain from how hard he pushed me.

"I'll ask again, how do you know the Sand nin?"
"..."
"Does it have to do with you being gone for a month?"
"...Fine, it's true. Why do you want to know so badly anyway?" I tried to stay firm, But it was so hard with his face so close to me (ＴωＴ*)

"Wh-what is your relationship with Gaara?" He asked with his gaze away from me.
"He's my friend? Why do you want to know?" I asked confused.
"...Nothing." He steps away from me and walks away. 

I stand there stunned, 'Why did he ask me that? Does he like me? No, it's probably because he's worried, but why me? He didn't care about Sakura-nee and the other girls. I'm just overthinking about it. '
