[note: I'm English so loads of baby terms are going to be in English, eg: Pram = stroller
Nappy = diaper.
Idk about anything else but if you're confused, just comment!]

Marlene left mid-morning then Sirius and Remus left after lunch. They helped strip the bed and put clean sheets on as Danica had a walk around the bedroom, Teddy and Rose sleeping soundly in the nursery.

Now Regulus is in the kitchen, leaving Danica to sleep in peace, keeping an ear out for any sound from the babies. He is tidying away from lunch. The sun is streaming through the windows and he opens them, allowing fresh air to flow into the house. He smiles to himself: a wide, goofy smile. The house is so quiet.

As if his thoughts have been heard, a steady crying comes from upstairs. He rushes up and into the nursery. Both children wailing now.

"Hey," he says going to Rose first. "It's okay, dada's here."

He picks Rose up and cradles her, turning to Teddy who's quieter now.

"Hey Teddy," Regulus says, kneeling next to his crib and extending a hand out to him. He doesn't really know what he's doing but it seems to be working for now.

He feels eyes on him and he turns his face to the door to find Danica standing in her silk robe, watching him, a smile on her lips. She looks tired still but better than earlier. Slowly she walks in and leans over Teddy, picking him up and rocking him.

"Do you think they're hungry?" She asks, walking to the other side of the room to sit in the chair.

"Maybe," Regulus says walking to the window and leaning back against it. He watches as Danica holds Teddy against her chest.

How quickly their lives have changed.

"Sirius told me he'd be back with a pram," Regulus says. "Then we can take them out."

Danica smiles and rests her head back against the chair.

"That's kind of him," she says. "I can't wait to take them to the beach."

Regulus agrees and looks over his shoulder out the window. The view from here is amazing: the blue sky merging with the sea in the distance, the edge of the cliff vanishing, the narrow stone path guiding walkers down the safe route to the beach. Rose begins to gurgle and he looks down at her, rocking her gently.

"Just be patient," Regulus says, glancing up at Danica. She's watching him as Teddy feeds, resting his minute fist on her chest. Regulus smiles softly at her.

There's a knock at the door and the peace is broken. Regulus walks over to Danica and kisses her forehead before walking downstairs, still with Rose in his arms, and he answers the door.

Sirius stands on the threshold, a box at his feet.

"A pram for twins," he announces.

Regulus gives him a one-armed hug.

"Thank you," he says.

"Anything for you," Sirius grins at him and looks down at Rose. "Was it really this morning they were born?"

"Feels like ages ago," Regulus nods. "It was four-ish."

"Twelve hours ago," Sirius says.

"Whoa," Regulus breathes.

"She's about twelve hours old," Sirius says, smiling and leaning down, kissing her head. "I'm uncle Padfoot."

Regulus laughs softly.

"Want a drink?" He asks.

Sirius shakes his head.

"I can't stay," he says solemnly. "I'll bring this in though," he says and bends down, picking the box up.
