𝕋𝕠 ℍ𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝔸𝕟𝕕 𝕋𝕠 ℍ𝕠𝕝𝕕 [ʙᴏᴏᴋ 3]

3rd January 1981

Danica and her family have been invited - or just told to go - to Remus and Sirius's flat. Luckily it's the weekend so neither of them are working: Danica is part of the quidditch team Falmouth Falcons (still building her way up to play nationally but she is the best seeker the team has had for decades), and Regulus still works in the muggle cafe. He tried to get a job at the ministry but he was not accepted - as yet - Moody told him to give it time.

They are outside the flat now, waiting at the door for one of them to answer it.

"Morning!" Sirius says as the door flies open. His hair is long and flows down around his shoulders, Remus told Danica how much he liked it at Christmas.

"Morning," Danica says as he kisses her cheek before kissing Rose's head.

"Come in," he says, letting her walk past. "Moony's just put the kettle on."

Danica goes straight through to the kitchen and Remus is hugging her in an instant.

"Hey bubs," she says and Rose tries copying her.

"'Ey," she says, reaching out for a hug too.

Remus takes her in his arms as Teddy walks into the kitchen unaided. He clumsily runs to Remus and hugs his leg. Remus laughs and looks down at them. Rose then points at the floor and the twins walk around with each other, amusing themselves.

"So," Danica says as Remus passes her a mug. "Why did you want us here?"

Remus grins.

"Just wait," he says as Sirius comes in and walks over to his boyfriend.

Regulus makes sure that the kids aren't up to mischief before putting an arm around Danica.

"So?" He asks them.

The boys look at each other and Sirius looks like he's about to burst.

"We're engaged!" He blurts.

Danica's jaw drops and she covers her gaping mouth.

"Oh, Merlin!" She says as Regulus gives his brother a manly hug. "That's amazing news! Congratulations!" She falls into Remus's arms and kisses his jaw.

"Who asked who?" Regulus asks, hugging Remus now.

"I did," Remus says as Danica hugs Sirius.

"He gave me a ring and everything!" Sirius pulls away and lifts his hand out to Danica.

It's a simple ring: a gold band with a black gemstone. But it is perfect and suits Sirius.

His smile is so wide, his eyes are bright even though they are framed with black eyeliner. Remus is glowing, his usually pale and scarred skin is now rouged.

"We realised that," Remus says, "no matter what people say, we can get through it. If we can do this illegally then we'll know that we can do anything."

Danica smiles and hugs him again.

"I'm so happy for you both," she says.

Regulus agrees with her as Teddy runs in and bumps against his leg. She watches as he bends down and picks his son up, throwing him in the air and catching him again. Teddy giggles and screeches.

"Yay!" He says. "'Ore," he demands.

"More?" Regulus asks and he nods so Regulus does it again - and again, and again...

Rose walks over to Remus whilst this is going on and she hugs his leg.

"Rosie," Danica says to her, "uncle Moony and uncle Padfoot are getting married! Do you know what that means?"
