Early August 1990

"Mum! Dad! Rose!"

Danica hears Teddy shouting from downstairs as she wakes up. She is on Regulus's chest and his body is wiggling a little. She sighs and rolls off him as he sits up and gets out of bed, pulling on shorts as he walks to the door.

"DAAAD! MUUUM!" Roses yells reverberate around the house.

"What!?" Regulus says, irritation clear in his voice as he harshly opens the door.

Danica sits up and rubs her eyes, confused at what all the shouting's about. It's still so early.

"Love!" Regulus calls up the stairs.

He sounds happy and Danica jumps out of bed, pulling on her thin robe before rushing downstairs.

"What is it?" She asks and looks around the kitchen.

Teddy and Rose stand beside one another, each with a letter in their hand. Regulus is grinning madly and it suddenly dawns on her.

"Is that what I think it is?" She asks.

Regulus nods and pulls her into his arms. Danica smiles and kisses his cheek, before twisting in his arms to look at their children as they excitedly scan the letters again and again.

"It says that a book list will come soon," Rose announces and smiles up at her parents.

"That's good," Danica says. "We can go to Diagon Alley then."

Regulus squeezes her tight and kisses her head. Danica rubs his forearm that is around her neck and she kisses it, his bare chest against her back.

"I can't wait to go!" Teddy says. "Can we get new broomsticks for school?"

"Ted," Regulus says. "You're not allowed to have your own broomstick in first year."

Teddy sighs and Rose crosses her arms.

"But we're mum's kids!" She says. "The best seeker England's had for years!"

Danica shakes her head and bites back a smile.

"And don't forget dad played at school, too," she says.

"Exactly!" Teddy says. "Surely they'll want us on the team right away!"

Regulus groans quietly so that only Danica can hear. She tilts her head, smiling up at him, feeling cheeky that she's making this difficult for him. He looks down at her and shakes his head slightly, a small smile on his face.

"Even you agree that they'll be on the team," Danica says quietly.

Regulus nods in defeat.

"What happens if we get sorted into different houses?" Rose asks.

"Yeah," Teddy says. "I think I'm like dad, I'll be a Slytherin."

"And what if I'm in Hufflepuff," Rose says. "I don't know life without you," she looks at Teddy.

Teddy hugs his sister, a rare sight for them.

"Rose," he says. "I'll sneak into your common room and dorm like dad used to..."

Danica looks up at Regulus.

"You told him!?" She hisses.

He just smiles and shrugs, a glint in his eye.

"...if you need me, we can ask Sirius and James how they did that mirror..."

"And they told them about the mirror!?" Danica hisses again.
