" Where were you when I was getting spanked?" Jethro asked Gavin as they walked along the tennis court. A loud cheer had just broken out from the watching students and Jethro hissed. He wondered what they found exciting in tennis, it was football or nothing for him.
He hissed again as he remembered about football. He had recently been banned from the Bulldogs team for some misconduct and just today, he had indulged in another bad act. He gave a wry smile at his madness and then looked at the quiet Gavin who had refused to answer his question, "I asked where were you?" He bopped him on a shoulder.
"Ouch!" Gavin winced, "Was hiding my face, that's it." He said harshly and Jethro rather burst out laughing.
"Bloody Peter!" He cackled, "Hiding when your Jesus was being crucified."
"My Jesus?" Gavin sneered and stopped walking, "Or Ava's Jesus?" He teased and watched a stupid grin wrap on Jethro's face. Somehow he felt Jethro was glad of himself for his violent show at the cafeteria. He had advised him to put himself out and show it that he cared about Ava, but then Jethro had done it most crazily. He chuckled.
"You smiling too." Jethro winked at him and folded his arms across his chest, "You know I feel so proud now." He beamed and licked his lips in satisfaction.
"How many spanks did you get?" Gavin shook his head.
"You could have just come to count instead of hiding." Jethro frowned at the naughty question and immediately fell into steps.
"Well, I just thought you didn't get enough." Gavin shrugged and struggled to catch up with his pace.
They took to a corridor that would eventually lead to where Gavin's bicycle was parked. Jethro was sulking while Gavin observed as some students stared meaningfully at them as they walked past.
"Noticed how they're looking at us? You caused all these." Gavin pouted, breaking the short silence that had come between them.
"I've always wanted to be a star." Jethro tittered.
"Heck. They're looking at us as villains." Gavin mumbled back angrily just as a girl funnily evaded their path, fearful of being hit and Gavin gave Jethro a look of 'you see that?'
"Villains are the biggest stars," Jethro said pridefully with a crazy smile that made Gavin shake his head again in frustration.
"Finally," Gavin breathed excitement when they got to his bicycle and then nudged Jethro when he saw a familiar girl approaching them, "Hey, see Jessy coming." He whispered and Jethro looked in her direction.
"I've seen her earlier," Jethro muttered back, remembering the moment when he had stomped out of the cafeteria and locked eyes with her. She had just stared at him for a minute and then ran to a corner, crying. "Shouldn't you let me be too?" He said in fake displeasure when she finally got to their side.
"I should.." She said in a sad tone and had wanted to say more, but her voice shook and choked out the words.
"But you're stalking me." He maintained his false arrogance while Gavin gawped at him, wondering what had gotten into his head. The girl was a hurt soul already, he should be nicer to her.
"No, just..." She stopped again with a shaking voice but quickly recovered, "Just want to ask why you fought for Ava."
Jethro chuckled at the question and nodded in some stupid pride, "Because that's what a friend should do." He winked.
"A friend?" Jessy blinked her teary eyes at him. She had never seen him and Ava together. She knew everything about Ava and having a male friend called Jethro was not one of them.
