"You're an athlete, I wonder why I still bother." Gavin puffed in exhaustion as he fell on the running track. Jethro was a football player while he was crap in anything called sport. Jethro always won this kind of sprint but he could not say no when the boy had suggested they should go on another one today. He needed something to cheer himself up after the boring Geography class. Geography was a subject that would certainly suck the life out of you and little wonder it was the one placed before the lively sports break.

' You get bored before you get excited'

That was the song playing in Gavin's head as the lecture whizzed past him. He had given a loud yawn when the bell for the sports break finally came up and Mrs. Keller had scowled at him before unexpectedly giving a knowing smile. Swears, she was also aware of how grave her class always looked. You could count more heads bobbing in her class than in a teen party. Most nod with sleep while the few one's awake bob in false comprehension of whatever she was rambling.

Gavin laughed at his thought and then cocked his head at Jethro who was staring rigidly at the group of football players having a run on the field.

"When is the ban ending?" He asked, noticing the displeased look on his friend.

"He said indefinitely." Jethro exhaled despairingly, his lips stressing the last word as he also fell on the sun-bathed track.

"Bald men are more stubborn than bulls," Gavin said impertinently and Jethro could not help laughing as they both watched the bald man jogging and screaming instructions to the circle of teenage boys.

"You and Max will make good scenes if you ever get into the Bulldog team." Jethro joked and Gavin made a face at him.

"Like how you and Lira make good scenes." Gavin gave a return jest and Jethro just chuckled as he sprawled like he was on his bed.

"If Max was a woman, I would have known what to say." He shrugged, enjoying the touch of the warm sunshine on his legs.

"Dumbo!" Gavin cackled when the meaning of the words hit him and then bent forward to whisper, "Has she given you a call?"

Jethro's head raised instantly, "A call?" He snorted and gazed suspiciously at the glint in Gavin's eyes. Gavin only gave that kind of glow when he had done something crazy.

"Well, she asked for my phone number yesterday and I gave her yours," Gavin explained, lifting his shoulders innocently as Jethro sprang up to a sit.

"You nuts!" Jethro grimaced and his anger was fuelled when Gavin would just laugh back in response.

"That was the punishment for your shitty acts yesterday." Gavin winked.

"But I promised we'll talk about everything today." Jethro's face spewed venom as he yelled.

"Sorry, I already did that before the promise." Gavin pointed out and Jethro just slumped back on the track, a sigh of frustration flowing out his nose.

Gavin avoided speaking to him for a while and distracted himself by staring at a couple of boys performing pole vaulting at the center of the track. He watched on for a couple of minutes and the boredom was soon biting at him. He wasn't the type of person that could go a long time without talking. His mouth would always dance with words while the mean Jethro could go mute forever. He wouldn't have a problem being born dumb.

"So, can we discuss everything now?" He asked, peering at Jethro to check if his eyes were closed or opened.

"No," Jethro responded harshly.

"Really?" Gavin laughed, "You don't want a bigger punishment, do you?"

Jethro cocked his head and glowered at him, "And is that a threat?"
