Harley Ryker pov:I watch as a tall blacked hair girl flies out of the window, leaving me to die. She had green eyes, and I could tell she felt guilty for what she had done. But maybe that's just me, always seeing the good in other people.
I get up and squirm out of the room, pressing my hands on the oozing thick red blood that has now covered my hands. I race to my room, lock the door and quickly take off my clothes heading to the fizzy warm bathtub.
I quickly get in, biting my lip to hold the pain down. It takes a few minutes for Angels to heal themselves. But warm fizzy water tends to help the process.
I wonder what Blaze was doing here. Why would she risk coming here? Revenge? No, what have we ever done to her?
She was put on the side with other Fallen Angels because she was supposed to be. People who have black wings or are different in any way are sent there. That's how it is, it's always been that way. But once I'm queen, I plan on making a few things different.
I hate that because the way someone acts or looks decides if they are good or bad. I believe everybody is good in a way.
But still, why did she stab me? Why did she kill a few guards? Why did she come to me, alone?
Maybe my parents are right, maybe Fallen Angels are evil. But I hope they're wrong.
I sigh as I get up out of the bath and drain the water. I put on new clothes and see that I'm healed.
I walk down to the dining room and sit with the rest of my family. I have 2 siblings, my older brother Zane, and my little sister Lynette.
My parents sit across from each other along with the table, as we fill in the other seats. There's always one extra seat open, for my other brother. But he's dead, he was only 15 when he died.
Fallen Angels took him, and he never came back. His name was Tyson, he was always getting himself into trouble. But we still loved him dearly, at least I did. He used to tell me everything.
"Finally you made it dear. We've been waiting 5 minutes for you." My mom says as she starts to cut her food and eat it. "Sorry mom, I took a quick shower," I say with a slight smile.
"Sure you weren't sneaking around with anyone?" Zane states smirking at me." I glare at him, not knowing if he saw anything. "No, I wouldn't dare," I state.
"No arguing at the table!" Lynette whines. "Everyone please calm down and eat your food. We are a family, there's no time for this nonsense." My dad says eyeing my brother and me.
"Sorry," Zane and I say quickly. After dinner, we all go our separate ways.
"Harley." My mom calls. I turn around quickly and stand up straighter. "Yes, mom?" I say politely. "It's time that we show you what we do to the Fallen Angels and why." She states. My dad quickly nods at my mom and starts walking with me.
After a few long minutes, we make our way to the dungeon. It's the very bottom of the castle.
My dad unlocks a door and opens it, shutting it slowly behind us.
My eyes widen as I see a bunch of Fallen Angels in separate cages behind bars, they're all in pain. They are either stabbed, injured, dead, or getting ready to be hung or tested on.
My dad starts walking forward. "No reason to be scared, they get what they deserve." He states. I bite my lip preventing myself from crying. How could they do this to them? They are still Angels. I quickly walk behind him as he speeds up.
He suddenly stops and opens a cage revealing another Fallen Angel. But this one isn't hurting yet. "You have to show us that you will be willing to do anything for this kingdom." My dad states as he brings me closer to the Fallen Angel. "Kill him." He says, "or he will kill you." My dad as he quickly shuts the door and locks it behind me.
"Dad wait," I say turning around and banging on the bars of the cage. My dad just walks away, out of my vision.
My eyes start to blur as I turn around to see the Fallen Angel. "For someone like them, I wouldn't think this would be a hard thing to do." The Fallen Angel says eying me with a grin.
Does any of them feel bad about dying? Or are they happy about it? They always seem to grin, my mind flashes back to Blaze. Her green sparkling eyes, and her fierce grin. She seemed so confident in what she was doing, yet ashamed.
"I don't wanna hurt you," I say quietly looking him in the eye. "I'm Blade. I understand you've had a visit from my sister. Blaze." He states. "Don't ask me why my parents decided to name us so close." He smiles.
"I have to kill you!" I yell. "Stop acting so nice, fight me!" I say trying to get a reaction out of him. I don't wanna kill Blaze's brother, there's something about her that intrigues me.
"I don't wanna hurt you, just like you don't wanna hurt me. Honestly, I'm fine with dying. But like my sister said, you guys underestimate us." He says.
"What do you mean by that?" I say. "You all think you can go around killing us without consequence, without meaning. We are the ones who get thrown out like garbage. We are all the ones you guys chase and kill like prey. Well, guess what, we're tired of being chased sweetheart. We came to fight, but this time we WILL when." He states.
My hand reaches out to him and he starts to scream, in pain. "No, you underestimate us. You try to kill and take over our kingdom. You try to bring us down, you guys seem to always ruin everything." I mumble as he continues screaming. But then he stops, and he starts laughing.
"Kill me already. You worthless piece of shit!" He yells. My hand quickly stiffens as I realize what I'm doing. I quickly put my hand down. "I'm sorry," I mumble crying as I sit down.
"I'm nothing like them, I don't wanna hurt any of you at all. If you act like your dead, I can leave this door open if you promise to fly out of the window when my dad comes in. Just don't hurt him." I squeak.
His eyes fly open in shock. "Your gonna help me? Well isn't this interesting." He says as his eyes meet mine. I quickly stand up and unlock the door.
I look at him to see that he's bleeding in his stomach, and my eyes widen. "What's happening to you?" I quickly run to him and put my hand on his stomach, putting pressure on it to stop the bleeding. If I use my powers to heal him, I could save him. His blood continues to ooze onto my hand and doesn't seem to stop.
"I-i don't know." He groans as his eyes fill with tears. "W-why can't I heal you? W-Why isn't this working?" I whine as tears fill my eyes.
"Because you failed your test." I look behind me to see my, dad, starting at us eying Blade. "Dad stop!" I cry. "Please," I say as I bite my lip, but the tears still fall.
"It's okay- Just let me die." Blade whispers close to my ear. "No!" I shout as I quickly stand up and raise my hand to my dad. He quickly falls to the floor and slides against the door at the end of the hall. I quickly open it with my powers and slide him out locking the door behind him.
I grab Blade in my hands. He has long shaggy brown hair and dark black eyes. "If you throw me out the window I can fly from here," Blade says weakly. "Okay," I say. I break the window open with my wing, and it starts to bleed.
"Open up now!" I hear my dad say at the end of the hall.
"You know you can always come with me," Blade says. "I can't, I will lose my place as Queen." I sate. "Haven't you already?" Blade asks. "No, they will give me another chance," I say. "Goodbye Blade," I add. I quickly hover over the window and fly out of it dropping him quickly.
I watch as he falls and falls, hoping he will get back up. I see a black-haired girl with black wings quickly fly after him and catch him. I thought he said he would fly if I dropped him, I could've just killed him by doing that.
I'm no better than my parents, im no better than this stupid Kingdom.
The girl looks at me with a slight smile, then quickly flies away. My heart pounds as her eyes meet mine. For a second, I wish we could just stay like this.
