Blaze Pov:I quickly grab my brother before he falls into the ocean. "Are you okay?" I quickly ask seeing the blood on his shirt. "Yeah," he mumbles, I think she tried to save me." He adds before passing out in my arms.
I fly up to the broken window to see bright blue eyes staring at me. My heart flutters and I give her a quick smile. That was the girl I stabbed, the one I could've killed. Why did she help him?
I quickly fly away and head to our palace.
.........................................................................
I place him in his bed and give him a potion I made for his wound. He groans as he drinks it and lays back down. "Thank you." He mumbles as his body starts to heal itself and he closes his eyes. "Of course, I wasn't just gonna let you die," I say stroking his hair.
"She's different from the rest of them you know. Something tells me you might be into her. You know more than a friend." He groans as he holds his stomach.
I continue stroking his hair. "Yeah, I don't know. Maybe? I mean she did save your life." I say. My mind goes back to when we made eye contact, to when I stabbed her and she didn't fight back.
Maybe she is different.
"Yeah, she did." He chuckles. I get up and go downstairs to train more. "Everything okay? Your punching the punching bag pretty hard." My grandma says. She took me in after my parents died. "Yeah, I'm just letting out frustration," I mumble as I hit the punching bag harder.
"I see. Do you want to tell me what happens with your brother today?" My grandma asks, looking at me worried.
"Someone helped him escape Angel's palace. She wasn't a Fallen Angel, she was just an Angel. He got hurt, but he made it thanks to her." I say thinking about her beautiful blond hair and the way she saved him. She's so beautiful and kind, yet I wanna hate her. But that's the thing, I don't."Hmmm. Do you have feelings for this girl?" My grandma smirks. She doesn't hate Angels, just doesn't love them either. But she was here when there was a time when both sides got along. She fell in love with an Angel, but his kind killed him soon after they got married. It was terrible and tragic. A love that was suddenly lost.
I start punching the bag even harder. "No, don't be ridiculous Grandma. I don't fall in love with everyone I meet." I state.
"I would say differently." She chuckles. "Come walk with me." She adds. I stop what I'm doing and walk with her.
"You know, my husband wanted to take you in the first time he saw you guys. I was the one who was hesitant since I wanted my kids. But his face lit up every time he saw you guys. He probably loved you more than he loved me." She laughs. "He would've given his life up for you if he didn't do it for me already." She adds.
I place my hand on her back. I feel so bad for her. Pap was a great, caring, loving man. He never did anything to hurt anyone, that's what grandma loved about him. He was perfect to her, and so was she to him.
"It's okay if you fall in love with an Angel. But be careful dear, it's a forbidden love. Sometimes if you fall too deep, it can kill you without you even realizing it." She frowns.
"I know grandma. I know." I say. But the truth is I didn't understand. How could such a powerful love, be so forbidden and poisonous? How could love, not be greater than war and revenge?
After about 20 minutes of her talking about random things, we turn around. "Wanna race?" She says with a grin. "If you still got it in you," I smirk. "Oh, just because I'm old doesn't mean I'm not more powerful." She says spreading out her wings, as I do. I've always admired her. She has one black wing and one white wing, for the love between her and her husband. Showing that people are good and bad and that everyone makes mistakes.
"One, two" I laugh as she starts without saying three. "You cheater," I say as I fly in the air after her. She lets out a laugh and smiles as she makes it there first.
I slide a little as I make my way down to the ground. "Ha!" She says. "If you cannot control how fast you go you will never win. It's all about speed and tricking the other person into thinking how fast you're going." She smiles.
"I-i knows," I say catching my breath. She stands there waiting for me. How can she not be dying right now? She seemed like she was going faster than me. Oh, yeah she SEEMED like she was. She could have been going slower. The faster you go the more tired you get, and your wings seem to feel heavier as well. Means I could have thought I was going fast but really because I was so tired I was going slower than her.
"I see," I say as I stand up. "I was going slower than you because I started fast. Which results in me being the slower one, and the one who needs to catch their breath." I say as my grandma's smile reaches her dimples.
"Correct. If you wouldn't think it was a race you would have won. We need to practice this more, or else when your fighting one day you will be the one to die. If you need to catch your breath every time you fly, someone could easily kill you." She says laughing.
I laugh as well. "How is that funny?" I grin. "It isn't, but I don't want you to worry. One day you will win, you'll see." She says as we walk inside. " I'll see you later dear." She states as she walks away. The castle door slams behind us.I go to my bedroom and plop down on my bed. I move onto my side so that my wing covers my body. It's been a very long day.
For some reason, I can't stop thinking about Harley.
