chapter 4-Shade never made anybody less gay

"How did you find out?!!!" I whisper-shout at him
"Someone at school told me, also its spray painted over a wall in the playground." He casually replies.
"You cannot tell anyone, ok."
"Yea but all I wanna know is why its in graffiti."
So I explain everything. " Look, I don't know how or why but someone found out at the start of junior year and told everyone. All I can think of is someone overheared me and Eddie coming out to eachother but just decided to tell everyone about me. I'm sorry dust, I'm sorry i didn't tell you sooner, ok, I really am. Its just.. it just I didn't want you to think any differently of me. Also you cannot tell anyone, ok?" He nods. " I would never." He says whilst walking over to me and engulfing me in a gigantic hug.

I'm glad that went ok. The thing with our time is that, eventhough it's legal, it still feels like there are more people that are homophobic than not.

Eddie had a really rough time with both coming to terms with his sexuality and coming out. He came out to his parents almost immediately and was chucked out because of it; he now lives with his uncle. But, however, his coming out to me story is actually quite funny. It was one day in junior year -I was already out- and we were chatting about the basketball team. More specifically Steve Harrington. I had said that I didn't know what everyone saw in him but Eddie COMPLETELY DISAGREED. He then went on and ranted to me for a good 5 minutes on how Steve is the most perfect man in the entire world. It was very funny. I still tease him on it to this day.

Just like Eddie and I, Will had a tough time too. I'm just glad I could help him. I think he knew before but I just helped him along the way. It was about 2 months ago I found out. We were in the middle of being attacked by the mind flayer, and El was in another room with max trying to look for Billy. Mike had just basically screamed that he loved El. But I looked over at Will and saw his face completely drop. I felt so bad from him and once everyone else had started chatting somewhere else, I asked him if he was in love with Mike. He ended up confessing everything to me and I assured him that he's not alone. I'm pretty sure he got the hint but I haven't properly talked to him since he's in California now.

OK great, now I've told their stories, I better tell mine. I was 14 and watching grease. I'm sure you can interpreate the rest but in short, Sandy is very attractive. I told Nancy when I was 15, Eddie in junior year ( same as Steve), but Steve asked me to make sure it wasn't a rumor when we became friends. Junior year was shite though because of the entire school finding out. Fucking Jason. I fucking hate Jason. He was the one who spread the rumors in the first place. Perfect fucking Jason, with is perfect fucking girlfriend and his stupid basketball jacket and stupid fucking friends.
