It's 9am. Is what I say to Steve as he relentlessly bangs on my door. "Yes I know that, I have a watch dipshit." He snarkily replies. OH SHIT. "WE ARE GOING TO THE RECORD SHOP AREN'T WE!!!!!" Steve chuckles, as I excitedly scream at the top of my lungs.
The town is dreary but alive. After the crazy shit that went down at starcourt mall they had to shut it for a while to rebuild it. So the town is more alive than before. And, for me at least, the record shop is the heart and soul of the town. It is my second home (maybe third if you count Steve's house).
I started to drag Steve there after we became friends. I introduced him to good music, like the beatles, Queen and ac/dc. As you can tell i have amazing music taste. Today, I am looking for 'back in black' its my favourite to listen to on cassette and I have wanted it for ages on vinyl.
If I was about to die, back in black would save me.
"OH DAMN IT, THEY DON'T HAVE IT." I exclaim as I find no back in black in the ac/dc section. "Sorry ma'am but why would you want a heavy metal album." The store owner rudely asks.
"Because I like it." I snap back at him. I turn to Steve, who is looking at Queen, and dramatically roll my eyes; He laughs at me."ALRIGHT YOU TWO GET OUT OF MY SHOP RIGHT NOW!"He screeches at us.
We leg it out and run round the corner before he chases us. "Oooooo a diner." I say, looking at steve" let's get milkshakes, it on me." I carry on as I hold up the tenner that I had to get a record. As we enter the 50s style diner, I spot Robin, who was sitting alone at one of the red leather-seated tables, drinking a milkshake. God, she so cute. I think Steve catches me staring because he nudges me and wiggles his eyebrows. Then, smugly, struts over to her and asks if we can sit. GOD I FIND HIM ANNOYING. Cautiously I walk over and sit next to him and whisper a small ' hello' to Robin.
"Supp" she smiles at me. We make some small talk before the waiter comes over and asks us what we want. We all get chocolate milkshakes and some fries to share. More small talk is shared and the more I find out about this girl the more I fall. I hope she likes me too. But you know how society is, they would hate us. I'm just happy my friends don't hate me. Even Dustins friends would be fine with it but I'm too scared to tell anyone else. Sometimes I just feel so alone because of it and I know I'm not but the 2 other gay people I know are both boys.
