The better part of the world

CHAPTER 5

It's been two weeks since Natasha's first bigger slip and things have been going really well between Nat and Wanda for the last couple of days.The redheaded trusted Wanda more and more, and Wanda was slowly trying to convince Nat that she did not have to pretend to be someone she was not.

The girls, however, fell into a certain routine that did not quite suit the brunette.Wanda knew that watching TV every day and lying in bed was not the best thing for Nat.

Sure, the young assassin was still training a lot and spending several hours daily in the gym, but she wasn't doing it for pleasure, it was just one of her habits that she knew she would never be able to break. Wanda didn't mind Nat's training, but she also wanted the girl to have time to relax in other ways.

Summer was just around the corner and the temperatures were getting higher and higher every day so Wanda had some idea how to diversify the time.

She decided to make a list of places and things that Nat has not had the opportunity to see / try yet and thus show her that not only survival is important, but also life and good memories.

Nat was just finishing her shower so Wanda went to the living room, but she was a little surprised by the presence of a certain person.And no, unfortunately it was not Pietro, his adventure in Asgard was extended a bit for some reasons.

"Hey Maria,what are you doing here?"Wanda asked walking up to the black-haired girl sitting on the couch.

"Hi Wanda, I'm here because I need to talk to Romanoff, it's quite urgent.Do you know where she is?"Agent Hill seemed a little stressed out, and her words caught Wanda's attention even more.

"Natasha is upstairs, she should be here soon, may I know why is it so urgent that you talk to her?"Maximoff hoped it wasn't about the events of the last mission, Nat didn't need any more stress about it.

"In fact, I think I can tell you what's going on,well as far as I know you're hanging out with Natasha pretty often."

"True, so tell me what's going on."Wanda was getting more and more impatient, but Maria finally got up to start talking.

"Natasha can't stay here anymore."

"WHAT?WHY?"Wanda didn't understand what was going on.

"Wait and let me finish.Fury was not sure about the veracity of Romanoff's papers, but her recent slip during the mission confirmed that they contained truthful information.She cannot take on such risky work without a caregiver,so to still belong to the Avengers, she must come with me."

"What the f.I'm not going anywhere with you Hill.I don't need a nanny, I'm not a baby."Nat suddenly said while entering the living room , drawing the attention of two women to herself.

"I'm sorry Natasha, but legally if your little age is under 5 you can't be alone all the time.And don't lie that your headspace is above a given age, because we know it is much lower."Maria didn't want to do this, but they couldn't put Nat at any risk of being arrested by the state on charges of breaking the law.

"Maria, please, I will do anything, but you have to destroy these stupid papers and forget about them."At this point, Nat was almost begging Maria to tell Fury to leave her alone.

"Don't worry, it's not that bad, I already have a babygirl and believe that she doesn't complain about sitting with me.I won't hurt you, it's supposed to be for your good."

Wanda stood frozen and had no idea what to say, she wanted to do something because Nat looked like she was about to kill someone or cry again, and the brunette did not want any of these situations to happen but she felt powerless.
