The better part of the world

CHAPTER 13

Wanda walked around the room for some time with the sleeping girl in her arms.Keeping Nat close and seeing her sleeping so peacefully made the brunette feel so much better, like she could finally breathe freely.

After calming down all the thoughts that were circulating in her head, Wanda also decided to go to sleep.

The green-eyed girl lay down on the bed, trying not to change the position of the younger girl, Nat was lying on top of Wanda with her head hidden on the Sokovian's shoulder.Wanda gently took the blanket from Natasha's hand, wrapping it around the girl before covering them both with the duvet.

The nights here were very cold and the last thing either of them needed was illness or frostbite.

It didn't take long for Wanda to fall asleep.It wasn't late at all, but they both needed sleep knowing what was going to happen in the next few days or even sooner.

Wanda's sleep was interrupted in the middle of the night when Nat started fidgeting and mumbling something in her sleep.

The brunette initially thought the younger girl was having a nightmare and started trying to calm her down without waking her up.

"shhh everything's fine baby i'm here" Wanda whispered as she lifted Nat and rocked her slightly.

Despite Wanda's efforts, the redhead woke up anyway.

The moment Nat opened her eyes, tears immediately began to pour out of them.The red-haired girl began to whine, causing the pacifier to fall out of her mouth and she began to cry even harder.

"Oh baby what's wrong,why are we crying." Wanda asked without expecting any answer,instead she got out of bed and started walking around the room with Nat still in her arms.She started patting her bum,hoping it would calm Natasha down and lull her to sleep.

After half an hour, she gave up this idea, seeing that it did not help calm the girl down.

"Bubba you're tired,please just go to sleep." The brunette says as she continued to rock Nat but the crying still didn't stop.

Wanda just stood for a second trying to think of ways to get Nat to sleep.

The Sokovian finally sits back on the bed and wraps the blanket around Natasha.She lies down with the girl on her chest.

Wanda sights slightly and starts to rub Natasha's back.As she rubs the top of the redhead's back, she begins to whine harder which immediately worries Wanda.

She frowns and sits up,sitting Natasha sideways on her lap.

The brunette touched the redhead's back again and the redhead started to whine and it was obvious that it was a reaction to the pain.

Wanda immediately took off Nat's shirt as gently as she could, seeing the discomfort of her baby with even the slightest movement.

As soon as Natasha's back was exposed, the brunette gasped  'cause the first thing she noticed was a huge blue and purple spot.The poor girl had a very badly bruised back, and from the way it looked it was immediately clear that it was very painful.

Wanda had no idea how the girl managed to hide it earlier, but she knew that high pain tolerance and hiding it disappears when Nat is in  littlespace.

"Honey, how did it happen." Wanda said sighing, she didn't want to see Natasha in pain and wanted to help her as soon as possible. "Come on, let's put some cream on it baby"

Wanda got up, putting Natasha on her stomach on the bed and going to the bag where they had all the medicines.

Natasha obviously didn't like Wanda leaving her alone, because she started crying louder with a hiccups, which only caused her more pain.
