Chapter 10

Z.

My knees were weak as I stood up.Mum let go of me. I made my way over to Perrie's bed and took her hand in mine. She was black and blue from head to two. Her right eye swollen; her lip was fat and busted. To be honest it looked like she got hit by a car. I rather it be that than what I think really happened.

"I'm sorry." She whispered, her voice raspy.

"No, baby. Don't apologize." I kissed her bruised forehead. "What happened?"

She opened her mouth but closed it a second later. Tears streaked her cheeks. She turned her head away from me and closed her eyes, it seemed that she was collecting her thought, than her breathing slowed, she was asleep.

"Zayn,darling. Let her rest." My mum said. "She had some day."

I sighed. I kissed her head and followed mum out of the room, closing the door softly behind me.

"What happened to her?" I said when I walked into the living room.

"A lot." Debbie said.

She sat down next to me.

"Promise me you'll listen to everything I say before you take any action."

"Debbie." I said. "Did Luke do this?"

She didn't say anything.

"Debbie."

She sighed, looking at me. She didn't have to say anything I already knew.

"Yes." She said. "It was that no good bastard!"

I jumped up!

"I will find him!"

"Zayn, let me tell you everything else." She said. Mark came up behind her and rested his hand on her shoulder.

"I don't need to hear anymore!"

"Zayn, please." I heard a small voice. I looked up and Perrie was coming down the stairs.

"Perrie!" I rushed to her side, taking her hand mine and helping her down the stairs to the couch.

"Perrie, what are you doing out of bed!" Debbie asked." The doctor told you stay in bed."

"I'm sorry, mum. I needed to tell Zayn what happened."

"Luke beat the shit out of you! What more do I need to know?"

"The whole story!"

"Perrie.." I said, turning and heading toward the door.

"I provoked him!!" She yelled.

I turned to her "What?"

"Perrie, what are you talking about?"

"A lot happened when you left. I went for a walk and passed out.

"There is no way that you got all this from falling."

"No. you might want to sit down for this."

My eyes fluttered open and the sunlight blinded me.

"Perrie, are you okay?"

I squinted at the sun as a shadow hovered over me.

"Perrie, can you hear me?"

My vision focused and blue eyes peered down at me.
