As I stared at my sisters, teleporting caught up to me. Trip cursed.

"Remind me not to take you anywhere."

I was too busy coughing up bile to answer. My sisters, of course, looked back. I wasn't puking up my insides quietly. I should introduce you. I hear that's polite.

Like all Mers (with tails (which means not Octavia)) they have the common traits; the large fin that runs down their back and onto their tail, the webbing between their fingers, and the fins that extend off of the end of their tail.

Celia's about a year younger than me. She has blue hair, purple tail, and pink fins.

Dalia's about a year younger than Celia. She has red hair, blue tail, and pink fins.

Delilah's about a year younger than Dalia. She has purple hair, green tail, and blue fins.

Octavia's about a year younger than Delilah. She has green hair, and has an octopus body, much like Ursula. But in human form, like now, her limbs merge into two.

Crestina's about a year younger than Octavia. She has orange hair and pale pale PALE blue fins and tail.

None of them are wearing shirts. Like me they never wear shirts unless it's a special occasion. Or they're on land. In human form. Hopefully. Also they all act like they're five. All the time.

"Hi Gale!" They giggle. "Can we speak English now?"

Excuse me? It took me years to learn English. If they know a shortcut I will kill them.

"If you know how."

I see their faces fall. I silently cheer, because I didn't learn English the hard way. Then their faces brightened and I got scared.

"Teach us!"

I grab Trip's shirt and pull him close to me.

"Can we go back to the mall now?"

He hesitates before answering.

"What did they say?"

This is code for are you sure, because this does not seem like a good idea. I thought for a second. It did seem like a bad idea. I was already puking bile, and I had no desire to be a runway model. I whispered again.

"Run for my house?"

He whispered back, way quieter than I did.

"Do we want them to transform and run after us? Only two of them have clothes on."

That would be weird. And funny. But mostly weird.

I started to ask him to get clothes, but he was way ahead of me and had already magicked them up. At one point they might have belonged to his sisters, but they were clean.

So I told my sisters to put the clothes on. They resisted. And resisted. And resisted.

Then Trip magicked clothes onto them, and told them if they took them off and went around without clothes, they'd have no more brightly colored hair. (I translated) I'm not sure if he meant he'd turn their hair drab colors or if he meant it would all be gone. But it worked so we went with it.

I kinda zoned out during all of this. What was I going to do with them? The not so grumpy oldish man who really owned this land, barely accommodated me, Trip, Paris and Caleb at a time.

Speaking of Paris, where was she? Was she mad? And why can't she understand English in seal form? Are the forms that differant? When did my sisters even turn human?

Dalia flipped her red hair.

"So Paris said Trip's your boyfriend. Is he Trip or do you have two boyfriends?"

She pointed at Trip. Trip pointed back. Dalia looked annoyed.

"Yes, that's Trip. I only have one boyfriend."

"That's sad." Delilah commented. Crestina, Celia and Octavia nodded.

"That is not sad!"

Okay, so maybe it was sad by Mer cultures, but I had left the Mer world a long time ago, so what little I remember I don't practice.

For example, we're supposed treat Mer royalty like gods, but on the surface everyone hates kings, and the government. Not quite sure if hating the government is a good thing though. At least underwater we had order. Total order. But unlike what Aquamarine says, we have love. It's just that we hate others who don't have the same rank as us.

I must say though, I like the surface world better. Underwater, relationships are like the Bachelor, you have around seventeen dates and you cut them loose as you grow tired of them. The last one standing, who doesn't cut you loose, you marry.

"I'm sure we can find another couple guys for you to date." Crestina said cheerfully.

"No!" I yelled again.

"Are you married?" Octavia asked.

"No." I said, blushing my head off.

"Then there's still hope!" Delilah cheered. I face palmed myself.

"What's happening?" Trip asked. I had to remind myself he didn't speak Mer, that I had learned to speak English long before I had met him. I was about to answer when my sister decided to hook me up.

"Look over there!" Crestina yelled.

Of course we all looked over. I saw Mr. Springs walking our way. I had the urge to tell him to run away. It didn't matter which language I used. He said he had once been in love with a Mer female, she came to land for him, they had a male, he yelled about wanting her to meet his family, she walked into ocean, and dissapeared. His kid turned into a shark and swam away, and she went Mer and swam away.

I think he feels like taking care of me is like his retribution. Like taking care of me will somehow make up for losing his family. His former wife has probably moved on, like those romance stories where the girl meets a guy after having this horrible breakup with another guy. I can't tell who was the victim in their relationship though. Him, her or their kid.

"He has a wife." I informed my sisters quickly. This wasnt true bur I would DIE if they tried to set me up him. My sisters deflated with disappointment. Their hair lost some of its color and sheen and volume. Overall their hair looked wet for once.

"What did you say?" Trip murmered. I can't blame him. I said something harshly, then they wilted. I would be pretty scared too.

"What do we do now?" Octavia murmered. Celia perked back up. Her hair flushed blue from the roots, and poofed back from being wet looking.

"We ask around and see if anyone wants to date our brother!" Dalia exclaimed.

"No!" I yelled again. They wilted momentarily at my outburst. I wished that I had a sibling like Inky. Way back when he was alive he had set me and Trip up. I wish I could thank him. But he was dead. Death is the worst part about life.

Delilah stomped her foot in the sand, kicking dust into Crestina's eyes. Crestina wailed. Delilah yelled at me.

"Why not!"

"Because I have a boyfriend!"

"You're supposed to have at least seven!"

"On the surface you take them one at a time!"

I switched to English for a second.

"Sorry Trip."

He blinked before answering.

"Did you offend me in Mer?"

A storm crackled in the distance. I looked to Delilah. Whenever you're not sure who's using their powers, always look at the person who has the most reason to be angry. Her purple hair flowed out, and her eyes had turned yellow.

"You're not listening to me!" She screeched.

Before she did anything else, Trip zapped  her. With magic, not lightning. Imagine sparkles on steriods. She fell, asleep, onto the beach.
