It's been about 5 months since the vow renewal. Jordan and Simone are settled into the house. They did some minor remodeling but not too much. Simone's mom is still feeling sick but is awaiting a diagnosis and the last 5 months have definitely been hard. Simone has hope that her mom will pull through no matter what may be wrong. She's trying to focus mostly on the three most positive things in her life which are Jordan, Shay and their new little bundle of joy.
Spencer and Olivia have been mostly supporting Jordan and Simone while also getting ready for their own careers and their baby on the way. Liv is now mostly working from home and Spencer is still focused on the upcoming NFL draft.
It's currently the holiday season and Spencer and Liv are putting up their Christmas tree.
"Help me step up the ladder to put the star on top." Liv says holding out her hand for Spencer to grab. "Or you could just let me do it. I don't want you to get hurt." He says and before she can protest he gets the star at the top of the tree. "Babe me being pregnant doesn't mean I can't do anything." Liv says with her arms folded. "I know just this was a little risky so I got you." He says and kisses her cheek. He walks out towards their bedroom.
Suddenly the TV catches Liv's attention. "Layla Keating and fiancé Asher Adams call off wedding! The two will remain a couple but have decided that marriage isn't right for them at the moment." The reporter says. "Damn." Liv whispers to herself. "Babe! Coop and Patience are still coming over right?" she shouts to Spencer. "Yeah everybody's gonna be here remember we're picking our secret Santa names!" Spencer shouts back from the room. Liv goes back to putting decorations on the tree.
Meanwhile Jordan is decorating the tree by himself as Simone walks in from visiting her parents.
"I thought we were waiting to do the tree together?" Simone asks as she enters the living room. "I wanted to start it off so you didn't have to do much. How's your mom?" Jordan asks as he adjusts the tree lights. "She's doing better. I'm still a little scared but I have hope she'll get through this." "That's a good way to think. I'm proud of how you're handling things." Jordan walks over to his wife and gives her a comforting embrace followed by little kisses on her forehead.
"Thanks babe. Now... move over so I can show you how a Christmas tree is really supposed to look!" She says pushing Jordan to the side. "Oh really?" He asks following her back toward the tree. "How about I do one side and you do the other and when we have our guests over they can judge?" He says. "Challenge accepted. Loser has to cook dinner for a whole week." Simone replies upping the challenge. "You got yourself a deal baby." He says reaching in the decoration box. "Bet." Simone responds as they both smile and set up their sides of the tree.
Later that night Spencer and Olivia's guests begin to arrive for secret Santa. Coop and Patience are the first to arrive .
"Oh y'all really went all out for the holidays??" Coop says as she approaches Spencer and Liv's living room. "Go big or go home!" Spencer says as he pulls Coop and Patience in for a hug. "Don't be shocked if I leave with that snow globe in my bag." Patience says as Spencer's laugh follows. "So where's Liv?" Patience asks as she and Coop sit on the couch. "She's in the kitchen decorating the Christmas cookies because apparently I wasn't being artistic enough." He responds joining the two on the couch. Liv enters with the plate of cookies and sets them on the table.
"Hey guys!!" She says hugging the couple. She takes a seat next to Spencer. "Ooo those little snowmen on the cookies are so cute!" Patience says as she picks up a cookie. "Thank you! This is the one Spencer decorated." Liv says holding up a cookie with a smiley face on it. "Aye that smiley face took a lot of work." He says defending his art. "And it's cute babe. Just like you." She says as he takes a bite of his cookie. "Here y'all go." Coop says rolling her eyes. Spencer and Liv laugh as they see Jordan and Simone walk in.
Once greeting everyone Jordan and Simone take their seats on the couch. "Ooo cookies." Jordan says taking two. "So where's everyone else?" Jordan says as he eats his cookie. "We're only waiting on JJ." Olivia responds. "Spence what happened to Dillon joining us?" Patience asks. "He went to Winterfest with Sierra." Spencer responds as he drinks some milk. "They're still together?" Simone asks. "Yep. Almost 2 years." Spencer says. "Look a lil Dillon!" Coop says.
"Where the hell is JJ?" Jordan says but is followed by JJ himself entering the room in Christmas themed pajamas and a speaker playing Jingle Bells. "What's up everybody!" JJ says with enthusiasm. "Let's pick some names" he shouts as he joins the others on the couch.
Once everyone picked a name from the bowl Liv tells everyone to close their eyes as she leads them to the backyard. Once she gives the signal for everyone to open their eyes they are taken by surprise as the backyard is covered in snow.
"When did you find the time to do this??" Spencer asks as he also had no clue. "I made a few calls and well snow!!" Liv says smiling. "Snowball fight!!!" JJ shouts picking up some of the snow and launching it at Jordan. "Oh your ass is grass!" Jordan shouts grabbing some snow of his own and chasing JJ. Coop and Patience double team Spencer with snowballs and immediately run as he chases after them. Liv and Simone have snowballs stacked in a bucket and start launching them at everyone. The backyard is filled with laughter and fun as everyone is enjoying each other's company. It's as if any problems they have don't exist in this moment and this moment is all that matters. As the laughter and snow throwing continues Liv pulls out her phone and takes a photo of everyone to remember this time forever.
To be continued...
