TW: This chapter discusses loss.
January 3rd. It's been a few days since everything. Dillon came home on New Year's Eve and Spencer has been going back and forth from home to Crenshaw to help his mom care for his brother. Olivia goes with him most times. Simone has barely left the hospital. Her mother's room is filled with cards and her phone has been ringing nonstop with condolences. Jordan has been by her side the entire time.
Spencer and Olivia's house around 12pm.
"You ready?" Spencer asks Olivia who's spraying on perfume. "Yep." She replies putting the perfume bottle down. The two are headed to a doctor's appointment for their little one. Spencer takes Olivia's hand and they head to the car.
A little later in the doctor's office the Olivia is getting an ultrasound as Spencer sits next to her holding her hand.
"Oh my." The doctor says. "Is something wrong?" Spencer asks worried as Olivia gives him a concerned look. "Well nothing is wrong it's just well there's 2 of them." The doctor responds. "What?!" Spencer and Olivia say simultaneously. "Right there is your other baby see. Congratulations you're having twins!" The doctor says smiling at the shocked couple. "How is that possible??" Olivia says widening her eyes. "Well you are a twin." Spencer says smiling at his wife. "Hey. Don't worry. We can handle this." he adds reassuring his worried wife.
Olivia nods and clenches Spencer's hand taking a deep breath.
Meanwhile at the hospital.
Simone is scrolling through Twitter seeing congratulations posts for Dane all down her timeline. "He's so lucky I don't have time for this shit right now." Simone says to herself as her mother sleeps. Jordan enters the room with salads for him and Simone. "Here you go babe." He says kissing her on the cheek. "She's still asleep?" He asks pulling a chair next to Simone and sitting down. "Yeah..." Simone says looking at her mother. "Your dad still talking to the doctors?" He asks handing her a fork for her salad.
"Yeah. He's trying to see if there's anything more they can do for her." Simone says as her eyes start to tear up. "Listen no matter what I'm here. For all of you. You and your family aren't alone." Jordan says wiping Simone's eyes. "I know... I just-" Simone is cut off by the sound of the heart monitor flatlining. "DOCTOR!!" Simone shouts. Nurses, doctors and her father rush to the room and within seconds Simone, Jordan and Robert are asked to leave.
It's been about 2 hours now and Spencer and Olivia have arrived to the hospital and everyone is sitting outside the hospital room when the doctor approaches.
Simone and her dad jump up and rush to the doctor. "I'm sorry but... it won't be much longer. It's best to go say goodbye. Once again I'm really sorry." The doctor walks Simone and her father back to the room.
Once in the room, Simone allows her dad to say his goodbyes first. Robert pours his heart out to his wife as tears stream down his face. Simone is watching and can't help but cry herself. Once her father finishes Simone sits for awhile with teary eyes before she speaks. "Mom. This is something I never even imagined I'd be experiencing. We've had our rough patches but losing you never crossed my mind. I want you to know that despite it all I love you. And I will carry you with me forever."
Simone ends her speech and the heart monitor flatlines one final time.
As the hours go by Simone has finally left the hospital and her and Jordan enter their home. Simone puts her bag down and before she even walks away from the door she breaks down in Jordan's arms. He holds her as she cries and lets some tears out of his own.
