Warning/s: a mention of knives
"Klaus! Stop that. You are scaring the girl." The third Hargreeves pulled him away from her as he was throwing the youngster a curious sight while holding the bottle of alcohol. The sibling almost fell to the ground when that strength of Allison was placed through the brother's collar. Eleven gulped and painted an anxious expression on her face and stole a glimpse at the ground to lessen the tension she is currently feeling. "I am just checking what kind of superhero she is! Maybe she is one of us. Like, l-like our long-lost sister. That does make sense, right?" Those responses from the mustache lad earned irritation from Five as he went near to them.
The young-looking Hargreeves tossed his brother a stare that serves as a sign to go away and entertain himself. "Okay, okay. I'll come back once I'm sober. Goodbye, freaks." Klaus raised a hand and waved in a tipsy manner as he struggled a little to take steps on the stairs. They heard a loud bang from the door and Five sighed in relief. There was a long pause of silence that circulated them before Luther could speak.
"Hi, Eleven." The first brother bestowed her a comforting smile and the girl nodded uneasily in response. Allison and he exchanged glances if what he did is fine. The third sister shrugged in response and went closer in a gentle manner to the frightened girl but Five interrupted and stopped her. He made a sign to go back to their seats and placed his hands through the pockets of his uniform's shorts.
"He looks so formal and fierce and mature for his age." Jane thought as her gaze remained on him.
The fifth Hargreeves stood up in front of them as Diego rolled those raven-colored eyes and just played with his knives perfectly spinning against those fingers, giving Five an impression he isn't interested to pay attention. "I don't care if you're interested or not but we have to take care of this girl. Take care of her and protect her against the Handler and the people who attempt to kill her. We also have to adjust our routine here and what I meant by that is to keep knives for now." The young-looking sibling raised his eyebrows and shifted his sight to the second Hargreeves that he is referring to. The brother sighed in annoyance and placed those knives in his harness.
"It's a jungle out there and it is not safe to go outside without informing each one of us." Five added to his statement and secretly gazed at Eleven who is quite uncomfortable in her seat. "That's all. You can rest now and I know it's an exhausting day for us." All of them slowly went upstairs the moment he adjourned the quick meeting to inform them about the adjustments and such. This isn't also easy for them because they are being haunted by the employees of the Temps Commission until now so they have to make an assurance that everything is secured also for Eleven who needed to constantly look after.
"Thanks," Vanya said tiredly and yawned after. She followed her siblings along.
The schoolboy deliberately sat beside Eleven and processed a way inside his mind how to comfort her. He noticed how much the uneasiness almost ate the girl and the best thing he can do is to make feel her safe in this household. "Hey there. I know we are still new in your eyes but we are not bad people. We are your allies and we are here for you. The bad people are also after us so the best thing we can do is to stick and fight together." Five stared deeply into those brown eyes for hers and when a smile formed on her lips, his heart screamed in happiness that finally she sensed the solace.
"We can be your second family if you want, and you are always welcome here. I am looking forward to our future missions together. You are safe here, all right?" The Hargreeves around her age showed a comforting smile and delicately caressed her shoulders as the girl nodded in response soon they traded delighted energy to build an encouraging atmosphere.
"All right." She answered back delicately.
Soon a distinct ring from the telephone broke the moment of closure of the two youngsters and also compressed the entire place. He paced as fast as he can in the area and picked up the phone to recognize who called and caught his breath before uttering on the other line. There was a huge wonder that emerged in his instincts about what possibilities were already happening at the Commission. "Hello. I have news for you." Said Herb through the line and Five immediately responded to finally shatter his worries and suspicions.
"What is it? I need answers now."
"Doctor Martin Brenner along with the Handler has been planning something against all of you to put you at risk." Eleven rapidly stood up from the couch and the moment she heard her non-biological father's name, a skepticism in her thoughts arose, now began to feel the anger linger in her emotions. She believed that something is wrong all the time and the girl must prepare herself for the battle.
