Cora:
Cora woke with a start, her attention immediately focused on the door to her room.
It looked as if always did, but as she got up, she approached it warily, ready for a fight. When it slid open at her command, all she saw was Luna resting against her own room door opposite. Something was wrong with her. She was staring listlessly down the dorridor, at the other bunk rooms. Cora turned her attention away and looked around them, but no one else was about. Nothing stirred, all was quiet. Everyone else must have been asleep.
'What's wrong?' she asked Luna softly.
After a moment, Luna seemed to come back to herself. 'Hmm?' she said, turning to look at her lover.
Okay, not quite herself yet, Cora thought to herself. She took another quick look around the outside, then stepped aside invitingly. Without a word, Luna entered Cora's room and sat down on her bunk, her shoulders slumped, staring at her hands in her lap. Cora took another look down the corridor, then closed the door and joined her. She wrapped an arm around the woman's waist and rested her head on Luna's shoulder. 'Wanna talk?'
'No,' said Cora slowly, then took a deep breath. Cora's heart ached for her; Luna's pain was palpable and she wanted nothing more than to take that away from her, to give her all the happiness she deserved. The sentiment didn't quite stop her from yawning, though.
'Sorry,' Cora said dully, 'did I wake you?'
'It's fine,' Cora reassured her, knuckling her eyes. For the first time, she noticed the change in vibration under her feet. 'Are we no longer in hyperspace?'
'Mhmm.' said Luna. 'We're back at Hosnian Prime. Face wanted to talk with the higher ups.' Luna looked around her, as if noticing her surroundings for the first time, and frowned at the pillow. 'What's that?'
Luna lifted her head to see the pale blue marks on the pillow, where she had been resting her head. 'Oh,' she said, 'that's just my hair dye. I had a shower and then just kinda crashed right after,' she laughed softly. 'Must have not dried properly.'
'I didn't know you dyed your hair,' said Luna, frowning.
'You thought I was a natural bluenette?' Cora teased, and was pleased to see her relax, just a little. A thought entered her mind and, smiling to herself, got to her feet and stood in front of Luna. Slowly, she pulled down her coveral trousers. Stepping out of them, she sat down on Luna's lap, wrapping her arms around her lover. 'There's one way you could check,' she said, her voice low and seductive. Almost automatically, Luna lifted her hands to grasp Cora's thighs, the touch sending a thrill through Cora's body. She grinned as she leaned forward and kissed Luna softly on the lips, and then hungrily, needily, and soon they were lost in each other.

After, they lay there together, Cora on top, her head resting contentedly on Luna's chest, Luna idly twirling Cora's hair. 'So,' Luna said casually. 'A redhead, huh?' they both laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. 'I can't believe I never noticed before.'
'I've been getting lazy about shaving,' Cora shrugged slowly, an act that turned into a deep, happy sigh. She could happily lay there forever, in her lover's arms. Unfortunately her brain picked that moment to make sure she couldn't.
'Oh!' she said suddenly, sitting upright. 'I just remembered - I got you a thing!' She hastily grabbed her underwear and a shirt and, putting them on, jumped out of bed and knelt down to the trunk beside her bed. Yanking the lid open, she rifled through her belongings excitedly, pulling out clothes and random pieces of junk and throwing them onto the floor. She scanned through the remaining contents, her hand running through them, hoping to find it either by sight or touch, but it wasn't there. With a frustrated slap on the durasteel box, she stood and reached up to the overhead compartment and pulled down her go bag. As she looked through its contents, she felt her panic rising. 'Oh no,' she said worriedly, 'where is it?'
