They burst into the reception, and then stopped.
The stormtroopers looked at them in silence, which Luna chose to interpret as confusion. She pointed behind her. 'The prisoners!' she yelled. 'They're escaping!'
The stormtroopers unholstered their blasters and ran past them, to meet the oncoming escapees. Luna and Cora shared a look. Luna was sure that Cora was having the same difficulty of restraining themselves from rubbing their hands with glee. They hefted their blasters, checked that the stun setting was on, aimed and shot the stormtroopers in the back. They didn't even have a chance to turn around. That left just one stormtrooper who was sat behind the reception desk, but Mara had already taken care of them. With an outstretched arm and a pincered grip, she was slowly strangling them. They clawed at their throat as an invisible hand choked them, and a few seconds later their body went limp.
'Good work,' Luna told the others, then pointed to one of the branching off paths. 'They took Roje and Amoya down that way. Let's go.'
'Should we try to find that stormtrooper before he finds the lieutenant?' Cora asked.
Luna thought it over as the door slid open, quickly sweeping the corridor beyond with her blaster. Empty. 'Not worth it. We don't know where they've gone. By the time we find them, the alarm would probably already be raised. Let's just get the others, then go.'
They reached the other end of the corridor, and as the door slid open, they found two stormtroopers sprawled, either dead or unconscious on the floor. 'Guess we're on the right track,' Luna said to no one in particular. They were in a large and empty oval room - though it seemed more like a crossroads, but with several tables to sit and rest - and three other exits, not including the one they'd just come in through. Luna looked at each, but could find no signs of tampering, no indication of where the two pirates could have gone. 'Any ideas?' she asked the other two.
Cora closed her eyes, but before she could say anything, Mara pointed to the right hand door and said, 'that way.'
'How do you know?' Cora asked, and then, 'oh.'
Luna was about to ask for clarification, and then heard the screams herself. Got to love those enhanced senses.
They passed through several more rooms before they caught up to the sound of yelling and blaster fire.
'Roje!' Luna yelled as they entered and spotted the Nautolan banging a stormtrooper's head against a console. 'Stop that! It's time to go.'
'Need to find someone first,' he said through gritted teeth as he slammed the guard's head down, again and again.
Beside him, Amoya sat down on a chair and put her feet up on the console. She leaned forward and pressed a button. 'We're in.'
Roje paused to glare at her, then slammed the stormtrooper's head down one last time before throwing them away. 'I loosened it up for you,' he hunched over the console and tapped furiously at the keyboard.
'We don't have time,' Luna said, walking up to him.
'You said you'd help get my people out.'
'And I will,' she assured him. 'I have an idea. But we can't waste time looking for individual people. We just have to-'
'Nope, not doing that,' he interrupted her, then stopped and stared, fixated on the screen.
Luna moved around to stand beside him, to see what was on the screen. It was a file on one of the prisoners. The name was unfamiliar, but the face looked did. 'Who is that?'
Roje didn't answer immediately. He looked up, looked at each exit, then decided on the one opposite from the console. As he reached the door, he turned to face her. 'I'm going to go get my dad.'
It was then that the alarm went off.
