Luna struggled against her restraints. The rope had been tied too tight and she felt her hands beginning to go numb. Besides, she was starting to think she was allergic to something in the rope, as her wrists were itching terribly. Truly, that was the worst thing about being held captive, acting as bait for your friends.

She and Cora were alone in the maintenance room. Both tied to chairs in the middle of the room, facing the door. They had been gagged but those, at least, were clumsily done and she had managed to speaking around the cloth.

'You couldn't have seen this coming?' she grumbled at Cora, who shrugged.

'I was busy concentrating on the kid. I told you I was having difficulty reading her,' she added defensively.

Luna hmphed, though it was more for show than any disgruntlement. She had always believed her girlfriend to be perhaps the most incredible person she'd ever met, but now that she truly knew that she could take on the whole First Order herself, she delighted in teasing Cora, acting shocked and appalled whenever she messed up. Which, admittedly, wasn't often.

'Thank you for surrendering, though,' she said kindly.

'I couldn't do it,' Cora shook her head. 'I couldn't hurt them. Did you see those kids? They looked like a stiff wave could knock them over. They need a good meal in them.'

'Agreed,' still didn't help them stop their kidnappers from faking a distress call with her own commlink, couldn't help them stop what was coming. All they could do was sit and wait and hope it wasn't too bloody.

Luna wasn't sure how long they waited, but when it did happen, it happened quick. The door didn't so much open as it was blown away in a cloud of fiery dust. Stun grenades flew in and filled the room with their blinding light, their disorienting sonic waves. When Luna could open her eyes again, she could see blurry, double images of people standing about her. She couldn't see them, but knew it was Face who was standing over her. She saw his mouth opening and closing, but all she could hear was a ringing in her ears.

'Trap!' she kept saying, though it was probably more of a yell. 'It's a trap.'

As her sight slowly sharpened, she watched others pop out, literally, of the walls, the floor, from hollowed out terminals. Watched her fellow Nexus turn in every direction, their guns poised to shoot.

It was no good. They were surrounded and outnumbered. As she watched, the sound of yelling breached through the high pitched whistling in her ears.

'Put your weapons down, offworlders,' said a tall, gangly Nautolan who Luna had pegged as the leader.

'Face,' Luna spoke up, 'I suggest you do as he says.'

Face looked at her - or rather, she thought he did. Her vision was improving, but she was still experiencing double vision and he could have easily been looking at Cora instead.

Face froze for a moment, and with a grunt of disgust he threw down his blaster. The other Nexus followed suit.

The leader sauntered up to them, squaring up to Vix. He was as tall as Vix and Luna, and while he lacked the bulk, that didn't seem to deter him. He was in control, and he knew it.

'Congratulations,' he said, 'you are now prisoners of the pirates of the Trench. I'd offer you refreshments but our food is too good for outlander mouths. Also the cafeteria is closed today.'

'You got us,' Face sighed. 'What do you plan to do with us?'

'Ah!' the leader grinned. 'You are going to be ...pawns? Pawns, yes. We're going to trade you to the First Order.'
