Chapter-3

She jumped on the log in her way, zoomed past the scattered masses of trees. She ran past them in a blur to the naked eyes which would just appear to be a blurry motion and the midnight darkness helps her to stay hidden in this forest. Though, this part of land comes under her territory but enemies still lurk in the darkness.

'he is here alpha'

With the intrusion of sudden voice in her mind, her midnight run came to halt and she in her wolf form made her way towards the pack house.

A week passed and their voices still rang like yesterday in her ears. Although, sooner or later it was supposed to happen; what baffles her more is their presence? If they wanted to just inform they could have easily done over a phone call but, something is definitely fishy going on or about to happen.

Antalia hurriedly crossed the threshold of the pack house still in her wolf form. Her beta and gamma were both waiting for her inside her office with the man who she is eager to meet? First, she entered the washroom attached to her office to change into a new set of clothes.

"What do you got Robert?" Antalia asked the first thing as soon as she came out of the washroom.

"What no greetings alpha?" Robert teased "it's been a while; I missed you."

Antalia took her seat and looked him dead in his brown plain eyes "can you not pout?" she asked " glad to know I was being missed but, the question is you got what I want?" and looked at him expectantly.

Robert smirked proudly at his alpha "do I ever disappoint you alpha?" and handed her an envelope.

Antalia took that envelope and before she could open it Robert stopped her "not now alpha" his eyes conveyed the message his words can't say.

"They are trusted" Antalia assured eyeing her beta and gamma

"I know" Robert said "but walls do have ears alpha and if I were you, I would wait till he comes here. This concerns him more than you." A clear warning and a hidden meaning to his request got Antalia thinking.

Antalia agreed to his request "so, you staying or leaving" changed the topic to his plans.

Robert tilted his head to the side and exclaimed "it's time for me to stay Alpha. The coming days are going to be challenging."

Andrea raised an eyebrow "how so?"

"Tom Ford"

The name was enough for Andrea to know where his words indicated at. No more explanation she required but, could definitely tell coming days not going to be easy for any one.

"So I presume you met him" Andrea asked Robert

Robert hummed his agreement "let's just say alpha, a lot is going to go down" his eyes hardened a bit. Their usual glint was replaced with the cold exterior of a warrior, ready to shred its prey into strands of nothing.

"The sooner the better" Robert said with a far way look on his face "the clock is ticking alpha, a lot will be unveiled"

Andrea didn't say anything and others excused themselves and left her all alone in the abyss of her thoughts. The heaviness of the impending silence, warning in Roberts words, Tom Ford and the challenge. Seems a lot was seriously going to go down. She secured this pack from her blood, strew all she got here...only for him to lead peacefully. But, now it seems she should have worked harder. These days are longer than before and nights even longer.

Andrea knew the council had some hidden motive. She always had the inkling towards it but the events that took place; the rumors and Robert said so too.

"Lead me moon goddess" for the first time in years she seeks her goddess blessing and heavens knows how desperately she needs it.

Her inner battle of thoughts were interrupted by ringing of her phone and without second thought she answered the call "hello"

"Got it" last she said and cut the call.

Who said nightmares only plague you in your sleep and some shadows you around too? Somehow this far-fetched reality is nearer than ever and who knows what tomorrow's hold up for them?

With a heavy sigh she took a seat on her office couch and when did sleep engulf her, Andrea doesn't know either?

'wake her up' a voice failed to whisper

'no you do it' another voice refused

'she is scary'

'do it'

'why don't you'

'just do it'

"I am" Andrea groaned, getting up into a sitting position and tying her hair up in a bun.

"What" the two voices said

"scary" Andrea mumbled "now get on with it"

"with what"

"first, don't speak at the same time" Andrea instructed "second, why are you here and third, go and get the beta for me fast"

"but.." the first one tried to say

"what" Andrea questioned "now" and he scurried off to find the beta that very instant "now you get to the business"

"well...you see" the second one trailed off at the last

Andrea's morning was off to a great start and the best part is she just woke up or rudely woken up "well I can see perfectly, wolf vision and all. So, spit it out before I choke the words out of you."

"mom wanted you down for breakfast" he spit out the very second

"for this" Andrea exclaimed "you woke me up from the sleep" trying to process the so-called wake-up call she received a few minutes ago.

The first one nodded trying to avoid making eye contact with his alpha, who is clearly furious? Thanks mother he thought.

"You have five seconds to vanish from my eyesight" Andrea instructed "youngest of Olsen twins" and sooner the words escaped her mouth the younger one of the twin high tailed out of her office leaving her to sigh in peace for a moment.

Maybe she spoke too soon and the next second her beta entered the room and made her throw her hands in the air "did I just jinx myself?"

"what?" Beta Allen said asked confused

Andrea dismissed his worries by waving her hand "nothing, just not my day" and gestured to him to take the seat. Before her beta could ask anything more she cut to the chase herself.

"they are coming"
