Jasoslav wasn't sure how long he had just sat in silence. He had just stared at the wall, reflecting.
Was Yakim right? Sure Dasha had her mean streaks, but she at least gendered Jasoslav correctly.
Jasoslav didn't think she was abusive. She just...had an odd way of showing her affection.
Jasoslav sighed, slowly standing up from where he had sat on the spare bed. He rubbed his temples in a soothing motion. His head ached. Yakim and Nykifor seemed to be arguing--again.
Jasoslav headed toward the door and pulled it open. He shifted into the hallway. He gradually made his way down the corridor and into the dining room.
Monsters sat chowing on a plethora of different things.
Pagan looked up from her cereal. "Hey, Jasos!" She waved.
Jasoslav weakly waved back.
Pagan patted the seat by her. "Come on!"
Jasoslav gazed around at the other creatures before heading over towards Pagan. He then hesitantly sat by his sister.
Once Jasoslav had sat down by Pagan, Akachi, Bohdana, and Lukyan had exchanged glances before moving to sit at the same table as the other two.
"Are you doing any better?" Pagan asked Jasoslav.
Jasoslav's gaze drifted toward his bandaged up hand and wrist. Small amounts of purple were seeping through. "I'm fine," he responded.
Zaizriiel, who was just approaching the table, holding a wine glass, then asked, "If I might ask, why was Lucifer trying to contact Perseus? From what I've heard, they don't talk often."
"Well," Jasoslav began to respond. "He wasn't just contacting Perseus. He was trying to contact Decimus too."
"When Lucifer was talking to Perseus, he mentioned Jasoslav's relation to him," Akachi began to say. "But, Lucifer never got to really relay the information of Lukyan's relation to Xisuthros."
"Huh," Zaizriiel cooed.
"I'm thinking that Satan's forces want to deliver Jasoslav to Perseus for whatever plans he has," Bohdana said.
Pagan then responded, "Well, yeah, that's highly possible. He's done that with me before--the same with Elyjaaih."
Once again, Jasoslav pulled a confused face.
Pagan sighed. "Elyjaaih Sítheach is our older half-brother. He's the eldest child of Perseus that I know of." She looked back toward the rest of the group. "Granted, when Perseus got a hold of Elyjaaih and I, he never once brang up Xisuthros. So, this plot... It's a whole lot bigger than things he's devised in the past."
"Dammit." Zaizriiel huffed, looking around the room before looking back at everyone else. "So, you guys said this all went down in the Grand Bar?"
Lukyan nodded. "Yeah. It did. Satan would've brought up me to Perseus if it wasn't for Akachi's quick thinking."
"What? What did Akachi do?" Zaizriiel questioned.
"I kind of slapped his goblet thingy out of his hand mid-call," Akachi rubbed the back of his neck.
"Okay," Zaizriiel bit his lip. "Well, Mr. Kariuki, you're fucked."
"What- what to do mean by that?" Akachi stuttered.
"I mean that what you did put you on Lucifer's shit list. He sees you again, they're no guarantees he won't just end you right then and there," Zaizriiel explained.
Akachi's eyes grew wide as he hung his head, just staring down at the table.
Zaizriiel sighed. "That day didn't happen to be the day that a certain siren was performing at the Grand Bar, right?"
Lukyan responded, "If you're asking if your mother was at the bar, then the answer is yes. She was. She was actually flocking to us. She seemed to really interested in me--so much so it was creepy." He shuttered.
Zaizriiel raised an eyebrow and had a look on his face that almost read "I wonder why".
"Zephyria saved us," Lukyan swallowed. "She and Bohdana started a bar brawl when Satan was trying to gift us to our shitty parents. Bohdana kicked her father in the leg while Zephyria decked Satan in the face."
"She did what?" Zaizriiel's pink eyes grew wide. "Then- then what happened?"
"We started to leave the bar," Lukyan said in response. "I asked if she'd go with us too. She said no--said she'd hold them off."
"So," Zaizriiel began, "she's probably being held captive by Lucifer."
"Sorry," Lukyan responded.
"It's fine," Zaizriiel huffed. "Knowing her, she's probably found a way out of there already."
Suddenly, Nine ran into the room. Their red and black eyes were wide. They looked terrified.
"Nine, what is it?" Asked Liulfr as he approached the demon.
Nine struggled to catch their breath. "They're...here."
