The wind lapped behind Keir's head as he made his way through the portal, the sun beating down on him as he noticed the dewy wet grass, indicating the cold night he had missed when he had travelled to Earth, not cold enough for hibernation though. He guided through the bush back towards the castle, careful enough to not be noticed by weary travellers, many had come through the bush as of late, frogs, toads, and newts alike, something Keir never expected to happen was the Amphibians all working together, times have changed.

He walked slowly, being careful of any injuries he had gotten. Why had he run, she was right there, righteous for the taking, but then it would have been too easy, revenge wasn't enough though, he wanted to steal the powers that she still somehow had and use them for his own reasons, such as taking over Amphibia, or even fulfilling what Andrias could not, taking over Earth, but he needed her powers, the box fully functional for travelling worlds but he could not obtain the calamity powers, only humans, and because Anne still had her powers it was going to be harder, he already had the other two powers, all he needed was to use Anne as vessel of sorts, the only way possible to get her to use her powers was if she had some sort of motivation....or mind control. The Core would have been able to do it, but it was destroyed, there were other ways, Keir just had to figure them out.

He pushed open the large doors to the castle and entered swiftly, closing the doors quickly as though to not catch any attention, the city of Newtopia still bustling with busy newts rushing around the large city, too busy to even notice the tiny frog slip inside the castle gates. He continued sleuthing around until he made his way to the throne room, catching the little sunlight that came through as he strode towards the podium, placing back the box as he had had to bring it with him on his expedition for a way back.

He sat down on the throne, memories of Andrias, Leif and Barrell came flashing back, but as quickly as they returned, they vanished, pieces of his memory lost forever when he had been turned to stone, the only thing worth memorable his purpose for The Core, which surely could not have been destroyed by a couple of tweens with ancient powers, as if they hardly knew how to handle them in the first place, there had to be something.

Keir rummaged through the castle, looking for anything in the kings library, books upon books lined the walls of the room, average sized books to giant sized books, he searched around, scanning for any books that Andrias or his ancestors might have kept that say anything about The Core, but to no success, surely it wasn't something you would leave laying around. Next, he checked the kings study, most of the draws and cupboards were locked or just completely empty and Keir was obviously not going to find a key, everything was likely taken when The Core and Andrias were defeated.

Keir grunted in dismay, the last place he looked the basement, taking his time to walk down the steep steps, more memories came flashing back but once again receded, missing pieces of a puzzle. He continued on ignoring the large headache, walking through the empty room that was once filled with life, now dead and forgotten.

He finally reached the familiar doors that once withheld the most intelligent minds of Amphibia, also cleared out of anything, completely empty. Keir sighed with defeat but still continued to search the room, not surprised when he came up short of anything. He made his way out of the room but as he went to close the doors behind him a certain orange glow caught his attention, tearing his eyes towards it with high hopes he went towards it without hesitation, maybe, just maybe The Core had survived, Keir knew he wouldn't be defeated so easily.

At first there was nothing, just the glow, but as he got closer, he noticed something small and round that was emitting the glow, he crouched down and picked it up, turning it over to reveal a singular bloodshot orange eye, an eye that once belonged to The Core. Keir grinned in victory as he gripped the eye "I knew it!" He yelled out, jumping up and down.

He inspected the eye, trying to connect with it as Andrias once had, connected by his crown, but Keir didn't have anything, but maybe he could try. He looked around and scavenged the place, finding bits and pieces to build a new crown, he didn't know where to start or how to create it, but as he brought the pieces together the eye would blink, signalling to him how to create it, using Keir's knowledge and with the help of The Core it was rather easy to rebuild the crown, the final piece the eye in the front.

Keir placed the eye into the crown, connecting it with the technology. A sudden flash of orange light, the eye closing, Keir afraid that he had done something wrong grabbed up the crown but as he inspected it the eye opened, a glow of orange blinding him for a few seconds, opening his eyes when the bright light had died down. He smiled to himself, looking at the recreation, placing it on his head in triumph, connecting him and The Core, eager to hear each other's thoughts.

"Keir..." He heard the familiar voice of King Aldrich in his mind, echoing through his brain "I am so glad that you have restored us" he said, although sounding sceptical of what Keir's mind had to offer, his unwavering loyalty unfathomable but surely true, but still the king had betrayed him all those years ago, sending him off into something worse than death, being alive but not truly being alive. "I am sorry for turning you Keir, but I had my reasonings" he spoke when Keir still did not speak "I have forgiven you, the only thing I want is what you want, to get the human girl" Everything was coming together.

A/N

Super short Keir chapter because I really only care about the Sashanne part of this story, next chapter will hopefully be longer, I know I keep saying it but this time I will do it, even if it will be SUPER cheesy and cringey.

I finished Dead End and now I am watching Kipo 😎
