"Great work today, Chrissy!" The swim coach said as the team climbed from the pool.

"That's Chrissy!" The 17-year-old said as she pried off her swim goggles and gestured to another swimmer, "I'm Jen!"

The team laughed as their coach shrugged and gave up. She could never tell the two girls apart.

"Did I do good?" Jen asked, but the team was already moving on from the exchange.

Chrissy removed her swim cap and gave Jen a sympathetic smile, "You were good too." She assured as the two followed the rest of the team to the change rooms.

"I don't get why people mistake us all the time!" Jen complained sarcastically and removed her own swim cap.

"Yeah, my hair is slightly shorter than yours." Chrissy joined in the banter,

"And I have more freckles than you, I've counted!" Jen assured.

The two friends continued in this way as they showered and got dressed. They were still having fun with it when they stood before the mirrors, their nearly identical reflections side by side as they did their hair.

"Have you found out where you're going on your class trip yet?" Chrissy asked as she combed her hair with care.

Jen heaved a terrific sigh, "Yes, it's going to be the worst! I wish we were going some place cool like your school is."

"Where are you going?"

Jen made a face as she tried to recall the name, "umm, Riley's aquarium...?"

Chrissy set down her comb and turned to face her friend, "Ripley's aquarium!? No way!! I've been dying to go since they opened!"

"Why!? It's just a bunch of giant fishbowls! You get to go to Canada's Wonderland for your class trip! That's going to be so much fun!"

"Yeah, if you call standing in line waiting for hours on end and going home with a sunburn and motion sickness fun! I'd give anything to switch places with you!"

Jen smirked as she threw her wet and tangled hair up into a carless ponytail, "Well, the trip is next week, Thursday." She snickered to herself, "if you went, I could stay home, and everyone would assume you were me!"

Chrissy smirked, "or you could go on my class trip in my place, it's the same day."

The two girls laughed as they packed away their stuff, the rest of the team had almost all left.

"What if..." Jen began hesitantly with a goofy smile.

"We did switch places?" Chrissy finished for her timidly.

Jen's green eyes widened in excitement, "I bet it would work!"

Chrissy paused, a frown on her freckled face.

"Think about it! People mistake us for each other all the time!" Jen argued, growing more excited.

"But wouldn't your friends notice?"

Jen shrugged easily, "Nah, you're the only friend I really have! Why? Do... you have friends that would notice?"

Chrissy bit her lip, "There is one guy in my class, Tom, we talk sometimes. He might notice..."

"Phifft! One person who sometimes talks to you!? I can handle that!" Jen assured confidently.

"It would be cool..." Chrissy allowed the idea to kick around.

"It would be SO cool!" Jen agreed and threw her arms out to emphasize, "I would have a blast at Wonderland- there are so many rides I wanna go on! And you would have fun looking at... fish." she added as an afterthought.

Thinking about it made Chrissy smile, "They have a shark tunnel- AND one of the largest Jellyfish tanks in the world." She said dreamily.

"Come OooONnnn Chrissy- let's do it!" Jen urged with her classic high energy.

"We would have to ACT like each other though." Chrissy pointed out sceptically.

Jen scoffed as she swung her bag around impatiently. "Owe." She muttered when her knuckles collided with a wall.

Chrissy bit her lip nervously, surly it would be impossible for Jen to act like a shy, quiet wall flower!

"I can pretend to be you no problem- watch." Jen hunched her shoulders, bit her lip, and looked around the empty changeroom with owlish eyes.

Chrissy rolled her eyes at the execrated characterization of herself.

"Well, let's see you act like me!" Jen challenged.

"Ok," Chrissy could already feel her face heating up in a fierce blush, "um, ahh." She half heartedly flung her arms out and bounced on the balls of her feet before dissolving into nervous laughter. "I don't know."

Jen nodded sadly, "Yeah, that wouldn't fool anyone."

The two friends exited the changeroom, both lost in their own thoughts. Once outside, the evening air welcomed them with cricket songs and a lazy breeze.

"Would we have to switch phones?" Chrissy asked suddenly.

"Yes! And we would wear each others' clothes!" Jen jumped back in full steam, showing that she hadn't given up on the idea either.

"But we would keep our own ID'S, in case of emergency." Chrissy insisted.

Jen scoffed, "Nothing will happen! And if we kept to ourselves, I bet no one would notice!"

Chrissy paused as she considered the crazy idea.

Jens eyes grew suddenly big, "I bike to school and on my way, I pass your buss stop- that's when we could switch places!"

"And we would give each other ours clothes the night before." An excited grin was spreading across Chrissy's face.

"Oh my great aunts ulcer!" Jen exclaimed, "Are we really doing this!?"

Chrissy bit her lip, "I really want to go to that aquarium."

Jen threw her bag in the air and screamed in excitement, "Yes! This is going to be, like... the best thing EVeR!"
