Enjoy ~ 😽
You step out of the room and Felix follows behind you, confused at the noises that were coming out of the kitchen just as you were. Han is sitting on the counter swinging a pot with his eyes closed. Chan is on the floor lying on his back also swatting at the air but clearly trying to avoid being smashed in the head. Flying around is a giant moth, which is seemingly unaware of the danger that it's now in. While you're watching the scene unfold, Felix steps out from behind you, and casually walks up to the kitchen.
The little guy puts his claws out, reaches up to where the moth was flying, and scoops him up into his little hands.
You let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding. It takes the room a second to calm down, to come to the conclusion that you were no longer being haunted by a flying bat sized creature.
Instead Felix looks around the room, first at Jisung who hasn't noticed the danger is now gone, then to Chan who is looking at him in awe. And finally, finally he looks at you, a blinding smile gracing his lips, his eyes creased in happiness. And he holds his clasped hands out towards you, and giggles.
And in that moment you knew, it would be a disgrace to rid yourself of the cat. How empty the house would feel without him here. But instead of dealing with that, you tell yourself it's not possible. Tamping the feelings down. You put on a mask so no one can see your inner turmoil.
"Woah, nice job Felix!"
Felix turns back around to look at Chan, you're sure he's giving him the same smile, as Chan looks as endeared as you feel.
Jisung, on the other hand who has finally realized the danger is now gone, has opened his eyes. The pan is no longer swinging violently in the air, which has you breathing out another sigh of relief ,that none of your stuff is damaged from the bug crazed man. He sighs a big sigh, before slightly glaring at Felix.
"I was just about to get him!" You look at Jisung in annoyance. He catches your eye. "But thank you, for catching the bug, I mean..." You stop glaring a hole in his head.
"Yes, thank you Felix." You remind yourself to smack Jisung on the head in the future.
Felix looks at you with his kind eyes, and politely smiles. "Can you get the door for me please?"
"Oh, Oh! Of course, sorry about that." You practically run to the porch door and slide it open for him. Hoping and praying that nothing will fly in in the meanwhile. He takes a few steps out onto the cold concrete and releases the moth. You watch as Felix shivers, his tail swaying back and forth. But he doesn't come back inside, instead watching the moth fly towards the porch light. Completely oblivious to the brutal and drawn out death it probably would have been on the receiving end of it not for the hybrid.
"Come on little one, it'll be alright."
Felix looks a second longer but abides by your advice. You give him a blanket that had been lying near you and he takes it gratefully. His ears twitch a few times as he readjusts to the temperature, you'll have to keep an eye on him in this weather.
You look back towards the kitchen, Jisung has climbed back off the counter and Chan is picking himself off of the floor. The two of you walk over to them, you to assess the damages, and Felix... Well, you imagine he probably just wants to feel included. Most of the food is already cut up and properly arranged so you're happy with that.
"Alright everybody out, time to let the master work." You flex your fingers for emphasis. Jisung looks unimpressed, Chan looks amused, and Felix looks mystified. That reminds you of this morning, and having Felix help you. You almost start laughing again remembering his shocked face. Actually, maybe having someone else in the kitchen could be useful...
