A Goode Year for Percabeth

First Day Back pt.1

Percy and Annabeth did not sleep well before the first day of school. Sally told them it was just there nerves triggering there PTSD. They had been diagnosed by no other than Apollo himself than told to deal with it by Hera. Yep the Gods were great. Annabeth woke up first after falling back asleep for another hour after a few particularly bad nightmares.

 She smiled at Percy. He was drooling snuggled up close to her. She kissed his forehead and he groaned already knowing what day it was. Perseus Jackson hated school. Being a daughter of Athena Annabeth didn't mind it but she was not looking forward to the social part of it. Percy honestly wasn't looking forward to that part either. He had left in the middle of junior year (not by choice) and hadn't talked to his friends since the Friday before his Saturday disappearance. For Annabeth's sake let's not get into the details of his disappearance. The point is Percy hadn't spoken to his friends in about 8 months and he knew they were going to ask for an explanation. 

Annabeth had made up the fact that his fathers side of the family is crazy and kidnapped him before they were dealt with. Basically the non mythology related version of what happened. Percy was also happening to feel very self conscious. Silly right? The most powerful ,and in Annabeth's and most peoples opinions, hottest demigod insecure? It wasn't because of how he looked but the scars that covered every inch of his body. Annabeth may have been the toughest person Percy knew but even she was concerned about her scars. She was scared how it would affect her health and how she was going to hide them. 

They got up and got dressed and even with the heat both wore jeans and jackets. Annabeth hid herself in one of Percys blue sweatshirts knowing having a piece of him with her through the day would help her. Paul told them in advance they didn't have the same schedule exactly three of there 8 periods were different. Percy had panicked about leaving Annabeth to fend for herself against as he said "ruthless mortal boys". In truth he just was scared a monster would attack or something and that boys would be getting punched every second by a fierce Annabeth. Actually he didn't mind the punching part much because in Percys opinions Annabeth in battle mode was very attractive. 

Percy grabbed Annabeth's hand and the walked into the kitchen. Sally was already making breakfast and Paul was helping her. 

"Morning Mom" Percy said sitting down and pulling Annabeth onto his lap not wanting to let her go. 

Annabeth not wanting to be let go of said from Percys lap "Morning Sally" 

Sally smiled at the two then shook her head at them fondly "breakfast will be ready in ten and then you will leave in a half hour" Percy raised his hand as if practicing being in a classroom. Sally rolled her eyes and gestured for him to speak as Paul laughed. 

Percy grinned "am I driving or Paul?"

 Paul scrunched his nose "for your safety I thinks its better if I drive, you just get distracted to easily Perce" 

Percy huffed and Annabeth patted his head "Poor Seaweed Brain, don't worry you will always be the best driver at camp besides Argus"  

Percy lit up and kissed her cheek "thanks Wise Girl". Sally brought over a stack of pancakes and they started eating. 

Paul said "when we get to school you will have to go to the office Annabeth and fill out some final paperwork and get your locker" 

Annabeth nodded "then thats where we will head first"

 Paul grimaced "actually Percy can't come with you to the office he doesn't have the best rep with the staff" Annabeth looked at Percy who shrugged sheepishly. 

She sighed "Its fine we have second period together so it will only be an hour apart"

 Percy shuttered "we've been through worse"
