"Good morning."
Rian almost jumped at the shock of seeing Irving when he opened his eyes. He immediately rose and sat up straight on the couch, looking all dizzy and disoriented. He looked around the unfamiliar surroundings and that's when he remembered he's still in Irving's home.
He quickly recalled the events that happened the other night: him eating at Cassadee Tower with Nana and Max, him getting an upset stomach, Irving suddenly appearing and taking him to his place, and them having a somewhat deep conversation. And because his discomfort caused him to feel exhausted, he fell asleep on the couch while Irving was making dinner in the kitchen. Rian's eyes widened: he slept at Irving's condo!
Irving made dinner but he slept on him!
Hot blood rushed through Rian's body. He lowered his head down and bit his lip from yet another dreadful embarrassment.
Irving, on the other hand, looked rather amused at Rian's adorable reactions. He was sitting comfortably on the side couch reading newspaper, waiting for the younger man to wake up so they can have breakfast together.
Rian quickly tried looking for his phone.
Nana!
He'll definitely get a good scolding from her soon.
"Your friend called last night. Eight times, to be precise," Irving said and handed him his cellphone. "I didn't have the heart to wake you up so I answered it for you."
Rian blushed while accepting his phone, embarrassment still visible on his face. Half of him was thinking about Nana and her wrath, the other half was gushing over the fact that Irving answered the calls on his behalf so he could sleep tight.
"She's relieved you're with me though," Irving added with an innocent face.
Rian blushed again. "Thank you..." he could only say. He's eyes were looking here and there since he couldn't look straight at Irving.
"Are you okay now?"
He curtly nodded, still didn't look at him. But truth be told, he actually wanted to run away and hide already from all the embarrassment.
"Will you look at me?"
Great.
It was hard enough to be with Irving without getting embarrassed time and time again but still, Rian eventually did look at him. "I'm sorry..."
Irving smiled.
Rian wasn't used to seeing Irving smiling like that especially in the morning so his insides fluttered. His boss really is a handsome human being. He cleared his throat and folded the blanket that he used. His insides fluttered again at the thought of Irving giving him a blanket when he fell asleep. How considerate.
"Uhhh... Thank you. I think I need to go –"
And just like destiny's game, both their stomachs grumbled all at the same time.
They looked at each other and ended up laughing.
Minutes later, both were in the dining enjoying the simple but appetizing breakfast that Irving prepared. Rian was amazed, yet again, by how his boss can cook really well. His kitchen was in no short of necessary cookware, utensils, and appliances.
"Do you like to cook?" he couldn't help asking.
Irving nodded.
"Wow," he mumbled.
