CHAPTER 20

💕🌈 DOUBLE UPDATE :)

Dannielle smiled at Irving, a kind of smile that displayed they knew each other.

But Irving was too stunned to even smile back.

What is she doing there?

He unconsciously looked at Rian and saw how the younger one's smile transformed into puzzlement while looking back and forth at him and Dannielle. Irving then realized how his own reaction got everyone in the room interested, curious for that matter.

Fuck.

Lucille cleared her throat and promptly started the meeting. She introduced the rest of the people in the room, and that was when Irving gathered they'll be working with Dannielle's team for a couple of weeks. She didn't even give him a heads up, like she's actually really intending to surprise him.

And to top it all up, she will be working alongside Rian. Damn it.

Irving felt anxious. What if Rian found out about him and Dannielle?

Will Rian still look at him the same when he finds out about it?

Fuck.

Irving gritted his teeth all throughout the meeting, looking at Rian repeatedly with guarded nerves, suddenly wishing everybody but the two of them would disappear so he can embrace the younger man tight and make himself feel better from all the troubles building up inside of him. He never knew looking at Dannielle and Rian in one room could make him this fretful.

Irving wasn't paying full attention to the meeting at all and he didn't realize the presentation was ending not until everyone kept quiet and their eyes were on him waiting for his opinion. His eyes turned back to Rian and now, a look of concern was plastered on the younger man's face while looking at him.

He cleared his throat and sit up straight. He shouldn't let his emotions get the best of him. Not now. He quickly looked at Lucille and spoke of schedules and other matters until the meeting got adjourned.

When everybody stood up and gave encouragement to each other, he remained seated, his eyes fixed on Rian who was politely smiling at bowing at everyone.

"Irving."

He quickly turned and saw Dannielle walking closer to him with an amused grin. "I guess we'll be seeing each other often from now on. Did I surprise you?" she asked as she stopped in front of him.

He stared at her for a moment. She's beautiful and all but her presence started to displease him all of a sudden. He wanted to get out of there as quickly as he could.

Could it still be because of their past? Or there was something more?

Irving quickly shook the feeling off, realizing how he just became a douche. Danielle did nothing wrong. She's just doing her job. She didn't deserve the emotional hatred.

He gave her a smirk. "Why should I? You seem to be everywhere these days."

She laughed. "From the mighty Irving Lofranco, I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you."

"We wouldn't be seeing much though," Irving was quick to add. "I have work of my own. Lucille and her team will work with you."

Dannielle frowned and pouted her lips. "You're breaking my heart so fast. Stop," she dramatically whined.

He couldn't help but chuckle. It was only for a quick moment but his eyes caught Rian looking at them but was also quick to look away.

"I saw Trevor the other day. He told me his girlfriend modeled for your mom," Dannielle went on saying.
