"Swim Until You Love Me" is a retelling of The Summer I Turned Pretty, through the eyes of fun, popular, music- loving girl Maddison Conklin. There's obviously quite a few changes to the storyline, as I'm adding a whole new character and I wanted to detail some of them beforehand.
So, Maddison, or Madi, is a year older than Belly, and two years younger than Steven. She's in the swim team, and she's intensely into music. Throughout the book, she's performing small gigs.
I've bumped up Steven's age, so he's already gotten into Princeton. Conrad's a year younger, Jeremiah's a year younger than Conrad. So Jeremiah and Madi are the same age.
Ketanji is a new character I've added, she and Shayla make up Madi's close friend group.
