Cyclops-Maia

The few seconds of tense suspension and fear was probably the worse moment of my life. A year ago I would of screamed and backed away but now after all I'd been through I'd just stood my ground and waited for my opponent. It was like the musical I acted out and then without intension meriores started washing over me. I remembered the Annie musical I acted in and the music got messed up and it went totally wrong. The voices were getting closer now. Emerson's heart had started back again after that unexpected message. But she hadn't regained full conscious yet. Slowly all the walls around me started to open slowly. Very slowly.

"Come on its not fair to leave me hanging"

"Maia is that you?" came Alicia's voice from the shadows.

"Where are you?" I shouted looking at the moving walls.

"Over here!" Miah's voice echoed through the dark cavern.

"No over hear" shouted Brooke.

"Maia come to me" shouted Minh in her Vietnamese accent and I scanned the dark hopefully in search of Minh's tall, slender shadow.

"That's enough" came another husky voice. Shadows started appearing on the walls, bigger then any of my friends. They crowded around me, the light too dim to see their faces. I tried to speak but no words came out.

"Ah!" One massive eye was staring down at me. The lights returned and I saw I was in the middle of a circle of cyclops.

"Look what we caught" what looked like the leader glared down at me with a look of greed satisfaction.

"Another foolish human fell for our mimicking trick." Cried Lara but Lara's voice came out of another Cyclops mouth. He was obviously the youngest out of the four but he was still 6 feet tall.
" I get to eat her first" cried one.

" No claw, I called her to us."

" no, I did!" cried claw.

"Hey I helped" argued the smallest.

"Enough!" cried the leader, "I should put some sense to you, maybe abandoning you will do the trick."

"No master, no!" they sobbed, I'd never seen a defeated cyclops before but I guess this was what it looked like.

"Then stop arguing and get to work!" replied the leader.

His massive hand curled around my body and I was lifted into the air. With his other hand he pulled some chains down from the roof and fastened me into them. He wore a metal breastplate with rags hanging down from his waist, and embodied onto his bare back was one massive eye. he had choppy, braided hair which fell loosely around his shoulders. He could break wood with one hand and crush me with one step and could breathe fire when I can just manage to do a kick. Luckily I was a quick thinker My best way to survive was using my voice, I could sing and I could convince people to give me food so I could probably manage to convince a 10 foot tall cyclops to not have meat on his menu tonight.

"Hey!" I screamed trying to catch his attention, he turned around and glared at me, my words got caught up in my mouth, I was paralysed with fear. I gulped them down and tried to do a cute face.

"I'm feeling like vegetables tonight and I've got a feeling you are too." I paused for a second just letting the words register.

"Well what about you let me go and then we can both eat our vegetarian meals."
"You think I'm a fool" he roared, shaking the ground and my
chains, "I am clawptasaw, I've devoured millions of humans, I've won the trust of Veronica and she will make me immortal once she becomes her full self and you think you can defeat me!?"

he glared at me as if he was trying to kill me with his stare. Without a warning, the other three cyclops came back with cooking utensils. They placed a massive caldron, filled to the brim with fire, under my feet. I could tell by the way they through heaps of excess ingredients in the caldron and how they didn't even think of stirring that they didn't have much experience with cooking or that was the way they liked it, I don't know. But the heat was almost unbearable now, I was sweating uncontrollably and worse off all it was melting off my perfume, lip balm and messing up my look. Only I can mess up my look. That was it, those freaky cyclops had stepped over the line! I started shaking my chains violently. Claw, snout and cage stared at me in shock, just letting me have my little tantrum but hey they brought it on themselves. Though they didn't have the same reaction as Clawptasaw.

"Let me out you little troll " I screamed, letting my anger take over.

"Little, Little, what did you just call me!" he roared squeezing me in his fist. "I'll teach you some respect!"

He grabbed the chains and dropped them completely. Before I knew what was happening my whole body cried out in pain as it slowly got burned. Skin peeled of my legs and I screamed in agony. I could hear the cyclops historically laughing and then footsteps leading away into the dark. They just left me to burn alive, I think they need to be taught some respect more than me. We were doing an English class on the phrase

'On deaths doorstep'

before the monster attacked but I didn't know what it felt like, until now. And I knew only one person who can survive that and that person was in a book..
