Looking at myself in the mirror, I saw a whole new person. The past year with Virat had changed me. Both physically and mentally. I felt more womanly than I ever did. I felt loved and beautiful. I was wearing a pastel pink sari with silver lining on the sides. For some reason, I felt like dressing up. It had been a while since both of us went out together somewhere alone and I wanted to look good. He always liked it when I wore a sari.
''Zaaraa! It's literally 12 past now...are you making your clothes or wearing them?!'' he called out obviously agitated. Putting on a pair of earrings and letting my hair down so it falls in loose waves, I walked out of the bathroom. He was sitting on the bed with his back towards me fiddling with his phone. I cleared my throat for him to turn and look at me and he did. His eyes widened and he stood up. I couldn't help but blush under his gaze and he walked to me. His eyes swept over me in awe and I peeked up at him through my lashes. He put two fingers under my chin and pushed my face upwards so I was making direct eye contact with him. His eyes wandered around my face and I was turning red each second.
''Wow..'' he said under his breath. He snaked an arm around my waist and pulled me forward so our chests were touching. The tension in the room increased and my breathing quickened.
''You are so beautiful..'' He took my lips in his and I tangled my hand in his hair.
''Virat...'' I gasped as he kissed my collar bone. He looked up at me with pure passion in his eyes.
''I don't know if I'll make it with you fully dressed downstairs..'' he whispered with a smirk. My blush deepened and walked back out of his hold. ''Viraat...no. You were the one who was complaining about me taking so much time.. Toh chalo ab,'' I tugged his hand, motioning for him to get out of the room. He stood there staring at me with a mesmerized smile.
''Kya dekh raheho? Should I change?'' I asked him suddenly self consciously.
''No..you're perfect.'' He smiled at me and wrapped a hand around my waist as we walked down the stairs. My parents who were downstairs reading the newspaper, looked up at us.
''Oh look at you two!'' my mother cried as I went to hug her. Virat stood next to me nervously tapping his fingers on my back.
''Uh we're going out for lunch.. We should be back by evening..toh aplok hamari liye wait mat karna,'' I told them.
''Oh but beta I thought you would like to have lunch with us,'' dad intercepted.
''Dad, today is the last day Virat has free before his training starts. We won't get to spend any time together na?'' I explained.
''Thik hain..Have fun, and take care.'' he smiled at me and Virat mumbled a goodbye and walked out of the door.
''Chalo ji ab toh apkey parents ki permission bhi mil gayi. Shall we leave?'' Virat smiled, his hand never leaving mine. I nodded with a smile and we got in the car.
We reached the restaurant and Virat asked for a table outside, overlooking the lake. Once seated he got really fidgety.
''What's wrong Virat?'' I asked him.
He smiled warmly and took my hands in his across the table.
''I have something for you,'' he said, his eyes only on me. I looked at him eagerly and he reached inside his jacket pocket. He brought out a tiny black box and put it in the middle of the table.
''Viraaat... What is this?'' I asked with a tiny smile playing on my face. He grinned and and folded his arms leaning forward on the table.
''I realized I was doing the whole proposal thing totally wrong. So..better late than never, I...uh..'' He opens the box. The most beautiful princess cut diamond ring is set infront of me and I can't help but gasp.
''Virat. It's beautiful. I.. Thank you.. It's oh my,'' I was at a loss for words. He smiled and took it out and lifted my hand. He slid it in on my ring finger and kissed the back of my hand.
''You make it much more beautiful,'' he murmured. I was blushing and I felt warm tears fall from my eyes. I probably was being really embarrassing. I don't know why I was being so emotional. He came around the table and kneeled down and took my hand.
''Aw baby don't cry..'' he whispered and wipe a tear away. I pulled him to myself and cupped his face.
''I can't thank you enough..you make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world,'' I whispered to him as he brought his lips to mine..
