Pratham stepped downstairs all dressed up for his office, his eyes roamed to find a familiar face, the one who did not let him sleep at night.
His parents and sister had arrived late at night from their relative's function.
He found her in the kitchen along with the helper, helping her in making breakfast. She was dressed in a simple full black outfit, her hair tied in a low ponytail, a few strands of hair falling on her face. Today was her first day at her university.
He just stood there looking at her.
Kiara could feel his intense gaze on her and she became alert. Everything that happened came crashing back with all the force. His sorry, his expression and the kiss. His regret, the disbelief reflecting in his brown orbs.
She wanted to cry hard, her eyes filling up again for the 100th time in the past 24 hours. The same scenario revolving in her mind continuously.
She wanted to question him, she wanted to ask him that what if Ashi was there? Would he still regret it, would he still say sorry to her, would he still leave her abruptly? Would he?
No right! Why would he regret having an intimate moment with her? She is Ashi she deserves the world, not Kiara who he could leave easily.
When suddenly a hiss left her mouth, some of the oil droplets splashed on her skin as the egg was cooking, causing a burning sensation.
Pratham promptly ran to her, holding her hand under the cold water. While Kiara stood there unfazed.
"Tumhara dimaag kharab hogya hai, andhi ho tum dikhta nahi hain? Itna Jal Gaya hain! Kyu ho tum itni irresponsible? Tum se kisne kaha hai kaam Karo"
He said angrily while putting the medicine on the burn when she flinched at the painful sensation and he looked at her worried,
"Bohot Dard ho Raha hain na?"
"Utna nahi jitna tum de dete ho" She wished she could say that to him but she stood there motionless.
After applying the product evenly he left her hand softly.
"Tum Chalo kaam wali aunty karlengi"
And before she could refuse he dragged her to the dining table.
"Behto idhr, Chalo nashta Karo chup karke"
He said or rather ordered while pulling out a chair for her.
"Kya hua Pratham beta?"
His mother questioned, Pratham and Kiara were not their typical self. They were not their usual chirpy selves, bickering, quarrelling and laughing at each other or with each other. It was just too silent without them being them.
She kinda guessed that they argued, marriage is no bed of roses and she knew that arguments are a part of it. What matters is how you handle it and she knew even though both of them were equally hot-headed and stubborn, they were also mature enough to handle such situations.
At least that is what she believed.
"Kuch nahi mom" Kiara answered slowly.
"Kya kuch nahi, dekhiye itna zyada jal Gaya hai, pata nahi Kahan dhyaan hota hai iska?"
He replied glaring at her for her taking
that lightly."It was just a burn for God sake!"
"Kiara beta maine apko bola bhi tha naa ke aap nahi karo kaam fir bhi aap kar rahi thi, yeh sab helper karlegi"
