The truth

Lr- are you asleep babe?
Andrew rolls over in the bed
A- not anymore
Lr- are we always going to sneak around like this?
A- no, we can fool around over at my place when Maisie's at a sleepover
Lr- or we could have this whole house to us
A- that could work too
Lr- tomorrow is Wednesday so we should probably get to sleep
A- yeah
They fall asleep. Maisie wakes up around 6 am and starts puking
Lr- you ok mase?
M- I'm good
Maisie pukes more
A- I think you should stay home today
Lr- but I need to go to school
A- I'll tell your teachers you sick like Maisie and I'll get Jeremy to school
Lr- I forgot Jeremy was here
M- I think it was the dinner last night
Lr- are you saying Brent poisoned you?
Lexi calls Brent
Br- hello
Lr- did you poison Maisie?
Br- no, I just used the chicken that was in the fridge
Lr- are you sure?
Br- yes and I used the Mac and cheese in the cabinets
Lr- what milk did you use?
Br- the milk in the fridge and I taste tested it before I gave it to Maisie
Lr- but did you eat any of it
Br- I ate a bowl and then I gave Jeremy the rest of it when he got there
Lr- babe, go check on Jeremy to make sure he's not sick
M- I never said it was Brent's food, I said what I ate last night
Lr- yeah but you said for dinner
Br- what drinks were in the fridge?
Lr- a couple of really old beers from when you drank here
Br- does Maisie know what a beer looks like?
Lr- Maisie you didnt
M- did I?
Lr- go check if there's still 5 beers in the fridge
Andrew goes downstairs and looks in the fridge and only finds 4 beers. He glances over at the table and finds an open beer next to a dirty bowl. He runs back upstairs
A- somebody did because there's an open bottle on the table next to a bowl
Lr- we don't know that was Maisie
A- but we don't know it wasn't either
Lr- there's a camera in the living room in case someone were to break in we can use that
A- ok
They go look at the footage and see Jeremy chugging the bottle of beer
A- so it wasn't Maisie
Lr- no, but then why is she so sick then
A- maybe it's the flu
Lr- yeah maybe
They go back upstairs and find Maisie lying down in bed with a trash can next to her
Lr- so you don't have alcohol poisoning
M- then why am I sick
Lr- maybe it's the flu
M- ok
A- I'm gonna go see if Jeremy's ok since he chugged that beer
M- oh yeah he did do that
Lr- wait you knew
M- not that it was a beer but that he chugged it. He betted me if I didn't beg for Brent to stay then I would have chug the bottle in the fridge and I said that if I did then he would have to
Lr- so you didn't want Brent to stay?
M- I did I just didn't really want to beg but I also didn't want to chug a mysterious drink
Lr- that's smart
M- I tried to talk Jeremy out of it after he lost but he said he wasn't a sore loser so he did it
Brent hangs up
M- I really did like seeing Brent
Lr- I know mase, it's just he doesn't know what family love feels like cause mom and dad weren't the best with him
M- really?
Lr- yeah, even when he was the youngest, Brice and Blake always said that he was treated like crap and he didn't get enough attention
M- do you think that's why he hid me
Lr- no. He hid you because he wanted to shelter you from how the world really was and he didn't want people teasing you about mom and dads death
M- but he didn't hide you
Lr- because I was older and trust me, it was a lot harder to hide me from the world than you
M- I wish he didn't hide me for so long
Lr- I know
M- and you let him
Lr- no I didn't
M- yeah you did
Lr- I tried my hardest to get you out in the real world and I tried so hard to convince him that the real world wasn't as bad as he thought and that there's still good in the world
M- not you
Lr- what?
M- your not the good in this world
Andrew comes back upstairs
M- you can take your little girlfriend there to school because I don't need her here taking care of me anymore
Lr- what are you saying?
M- I'm saying I don't want you here anymore
Lexi walks downstairs
A- why would you say that Maisie?
M- what do you mean why? She let Brent keep me away my whole life
A- no she didn't
M- yes she did
A- I'm not arguing with you about this anymore. I'll get Blake over here to take care of you. And maybe you'll realize all that your sister has done for you
M- maybe, maybe not
A- oh you will
Andrew leaves with Jeremy and Lexi after Blake gets there
Bl- what did you say to lex
M- I said I don't want her here anymore because she let Brent keep my locked up in here almost my whole life
Bl- if she did then everybody else is the same amount of responsible. And maybe you should take it out on mom and dad for leaving us and giving Brent the responsibility of taking care of everybody until he couldn't anymore
M- what?
Bl- mom and dad put in their will to make sure Brent did everything because he deserved it
M- nobody deserves that much pressure
Bl- yeah so maybe you should rethink your decision with Lexi
M- I just need time
Bl- to do what
M- they never let me see anybody or anything outside. I've never even been to the beach
Bl- wait what?
M- I know Lexi wants to take me but it's not like she has time to and Brent never took me anywhere outside of this house
Bl- you've never seen the beach before?
M- nope
Bl- I think it's time to change that
M- but I'm sick
Bl- then take your trash can with you
With Lexi and Andrew plus Jeremy
J- what happened?
Lr- what do you mean?
J- Maisie's not here
Lr- she's sick
J- then why didn't one of you guys stay with her
Lr- because she kicked me out
J- but don't you own the house
Lr- yeah
J- then she can't just kick you out
Lr- she told me she didn't want me around anymore so I don't have to
J- but why?
Lr- she thinks I'm part of the reason she never left the house
J- but that's Brent's fault
Lr- not entirely, I mean I could've tried harder to get her out
A- you tried your hardest
Lr- but I should've tried harder
J- I'll talk to her
Lr- no. If she doesn't want me there then I won't be
J- where are you gonna go then?
Ld- anywhere else, maybe I'll go join my mom and dad
J- don't
A- is this really taking this bad if a toll on you
Lr- she's my sister
A- yeah and she'll come around, but you won't know if your dead
Lr- then i guess I won't know
A- Lexi?
Lexi swallows a whole bottle of pills
A- Lexi no!!!
Jeremy sticks his fingers down her throat and scoups the pills out
Lexi starts coughing
Lr- WHY!
J- I'm not letting you die Lexi
Lr- why not? It's not like anybody really wants me here
A- that's not true
Lr- sorry, don't need me here
A- plenty of people need you
Lr- oh really, Maisie doesn't neither does Brent. Their the only ones I've actually had to help and now they don't need it
A - maybe physically but I don't know if anyone could truly get through your death
Lr- they probably could
A- they wouldn't I know that most definitely wouldn't and neither would anybody you know
Lr- why?
Lexi starts crying
A- because your the only one I want and I need you alive
Andrew hugs her and Jeremy joins in
Maisie calls Lexi
Lr- wow your calling me instead of texting
M- I just called you last night and I'm really sorry about what I said I didn't mean any of it
Lr- I know
M- can you forgive me?
Lr- can I go back home and be with you?
M- yes of course, but not right now. Blake is taking me to the beach
Lr- I'm sorry it's not me
M- it's fine, I get to spend time with my brother that I never see so I'm good
Lr- ok, I gotta go but I love you
M- I love you too sis
Lr- goodbye
M- bye
