Chapter 17: They're On Their Own

3rd POV:

"Th-there's two of them now..." Yaomomo stuttered as she couldn't help but feel frightened at the enormous creature before her.

"We were lucky enough to be able to engineer two Nomus, one extra in case a situation might occur, and indeed it has." Shigaraki grinned as he dramatically grabbed the air with his fist and started laughing maniacally. "This will be the end for you, All Might! As well as those brats!"

"Kids, run!" All Might ordered. He looked back to see that none of them moved an inch from where they stood, either petrified from fear or filled with too much determination to help.

"No! We can help, All Might!" Izuku yelled out as the hero shook his head no.

"No, you cannot. I can barely keep one in check, and the fact that there is another one means that it will be more difficult than before!" All Might said as they widened their eyes, it was that powerful?

"B-But with numbers, we can possibly defeat them!" Yaomomo resolved, but the hero only shook his hand, saying that numbers won't matter with this villain.

"Leave U.S.J along with the rest! Get your classmates, injured teachers, and yourselves out of this building! The teachers of U.A. will arrive sooner or-" The Nomu took advantage of All Might's distracted state as he delivered a punch straight at the hero's face and launched back into a wall.

"ALL MIGHT!" Everyone yelled out as they turned towards the villain, who continued to laugh, seeing the joy of their struggles

"You shouldn't be so concerned about that symbol of peace and instead worry about yourselves!" Shigaraki advised them as he laughed louder and louder. "Nomu, kill them." He ordered as he used his thumb to make a throat-slit gesture. The Nomu roared as he started to approach the young heroes-in-training slowly.

The time has come for our young heroes to rise to the occasion to save themselves and their classmates from their doom since help won't arrive anytime now, and they'll have to rely on themselves and each other. They all felt frightened and overwhelmed. They don't know what to do at first but know that they need to survive to see the next day's light again. That's because they're all on their own.

"Oi, you extras!" Katsuki called out as the five turned towards him. "Let's show this fucker what we've got!" He yelled out with a devilish grin as the others nodded their heads and prepared themselves.

Katsuki launched himself towards the Nomu in a blazing fury and delivered a barrage of explosions point-blank at its face. The Nomu growled in response and tried to swipe at Katsuki with its claws but wasn't able to when Momo snared its arm with a heavy-duty rope that she created and pulled it back, giving enough time for Katsuki to escape. The Nomu pulled his arms free as Momo stumbled a bit forward before letting go of the rope.

The Nomu glanced at her, breaking the rope and roared as the girl felt weak to her knees. The monster was ready to punch her as she had her arms up to block when ice started covering half of its body, reaching for her. The frightened girl looked to see that it was from Todoroki. She was soon swept off her feet as Kirishima carried her away, just in time for the Nomu to break free and immediately attack.

"Thank you, Kirishima," Momo said to the boy.

"No probs, Yaomomo, dude!" He said back with a toothy smile as the girl awkwardly smiled back from the 'dude' part.

"Oi! You fucking extras, focus up, or you'll get yourselves killed!" Katsuki scolded as the two nodded their head in response.

Katsuki clicked his tongue out of annoyance before charging up front at the Nomu. He sent an explosion again at the Nomu and flipped backward mid-air before creating a small explosion to propel him back at the creature. The Nomu was about to grab him when he slipped inside one of Izuku's portals to dodge and appeared above to deliver another explosion. Katsuki jumped back as soon as he heard the creature growl in pain.
