Chapter 24
( the next day )
Rachels pov :
I woke up this morning to the smell of pancakes and a major hang over . I got out of my bed and went out to the kitchen to see Finn cooking . I smiled and said , "Goodmorning." He turned around and handed me a bottle of water, "Here you had a rough night. " He said. "Was I that bad ?" I asked. "Well at one point you did some body surfing so.... " "oh god . " I said. "Anything else I should know about?" I asked him. "Well you called me Finny . " he said with a chuckle. We laughed, "Oh sorry. Sometimes when I'm here I seem to get a little crazy. " I said. "I don't know I like this Rachel she seems happy. " he said. "Really? " I asked in disbelief . "Yeah you seem like you can be free here like you just don't care. " he said. "Oh well I am free , free of school , free of bullies , free of Karofsky . " I said . "What do you mean free of Karofsky? " He asked me. Shit. I thought . "I mean I'm free of him as in I don't have to deal with him for now because he's not in New York. " I said Nice job Berry. I thought. "Right. " he said . It was silent for a moment and then his cell phone rang , "Hello?" He said . "Oh hey mom , where am I? " He looked at me and said, "I'm at Pucks house , I'll probably just spend the weekend here . " he told her . "Okay love you. " he said. "Okay bye. " And he hung up and sighed with relief. A couple seconds later we laughed about it . "Did she buy it ?" I asked. "Yeah for now but I should probably text Puck and tell him . " he told me . I smiled as he texted Puck . "So did your parents call to see where you were? " he asked me. "No they're away alot on business so they probably won't be back till Tuesday. " I said. "That sucks does it get lonely being by yourself alot ?" He asked . "Sometimes I just wish they could be stay for more than a week sometimes. " I said. "Yeah I get it , before my mom quit her job she was always gone for a long time and when she came home she was way to tired to do anything . " he told me . "Is it fun having a mom though? Having two dads I've never really had that special mother daughter bond. " I told him. "I wish I had a dad . " He said. "What about Burt isn't he like a dad to you ?" I asked him. "He's my step-dad but that close. " he said. "Well atleast he's there for you. " I said . "True but what about your Uncle Charlie are you two close ?" He asked me . "Yeah , I love my Uncle Charlie he just gets me . " I said. "He looks alot like you to. " He pointed out . "No way. " I said .
He smiled and said , "Go on a date with me Rachel Berry. " I looked at him , "Really?" I asked. "Yeah we can get dress up and go to a really nice restaurant and go for a walk at central park , visit the statue of liberty whatever you want so what do you say go on a date with me ? " he asked. I smiled and said , "Okay I'll go on a date with you. " I told him he smiled , "Awesome I'm going to go make reservations I'll be back in a couple of minutes. " he said and went out the door and to the lobby .
