JOIN THE BONFIRE
I walked around my desk thinking about the plan Major suggested about the mission, it seems like there are unidentified traces of the abduction and the terrorist that did it. I sat down yawning as I opened one of the videos of their previous location.
"Come in" I said as I heard a knock on my door. I looked up and saw Jadd coming in. It has been days since he visited me maybe because of our last conversation, even though I want him to stay away I couldn't help but miss him.
"Good day General" He said looking at me curiously I think he is trying to guess my mood.
"Good day Alpha and you are off duty you can call me by name"
"W-a for real?"
"Don't make it a big deal" I said rolling my eyes
"Everything about you is a big deal, besides a soldier is always on duty" He replied proudly, I just shook my head looking back at my computer.
"Will you like to join us by the lake? For the bonfire? It is okay if you feel uncomfortable, I just felt like you are always alone and would love some company. Actually on a second thought I wasn't the only one but with the others too and even Am-"
"Yes I will go with you, just stop talking" I said cutting him off. I stood up and walked towards the door and opened it looking at him.
"Alright cool, I knew talking too much would get you to agree" He grinned and walked out of the door. Sometimes he acts like a 10years old seriously.
"So what is your favourite colour?" I looked at him furrowing my brows
"Alright wrong question, what is your favourite thing about this place?"
"I don't have yet" I replied short, I saw his expression change to a sad one as if he really wants a conversation with me
"Did you always love the military?" I nod my head looking up the sky before him again. He nodded his head sighing. In the next two minutes he kept quiet just looking at the street, while I looked at his face, from his dark short hair to the grey eyes covered with long thick eyelashes, the street lights shining all over it. He doesn't have beard which makes me wonder how he would look like with beard. I looked ahead before he noticed I am staring at him.
"Why are you trying so hard to have a conversation with me?" He looked at me before looking ahead.
"You know every-time I am close to you I am always nervous, I can't help it even the other day at the training I didn't mean to annoy you but you clearly have better training skills that any of us and I just want to get to know you more" I nodded thinking of what to say before he thinks I am just being arrogant but it is all because I just don't know how converse with someone I am used to being alone.
"I know and I only have been training Ammar all my life and now Aleem because he deserves to know how to protect himself even though there is hardship, I found out he takes anti-depressants because of how left out he feels-"
"Which lead to depression?"
"Yes" He nodded as we reached the lake
"He is becoming better now"
"Finally wait you brought the General?" Asked Captain Haroon widening eyes, he was the first to notice us the others are busy chatting my the fire. He saluted me standing. I nodded at him looking ahead.
Jadd walked over to where Ramis is seated and stood next to him.
"You finally came back?" Asked Foxtrot
