We walked to the park everyone receiving from being beaten by the sparrows before coming to a bench table and we all just sat down to rest.
"Well that didn't go well," Luther muttered, his ego having taken a hard hit.
"Well no shit Luther," I snapped as I closed my eyes to rest, tired of everything.
Luther went on to ramble on about how defeated he felt, then Vanya finally showed up
"Oh. Thank God you're alive. You okay,"Allison asked
"Apparently, so is Ben. Yeah. And he's a complete dickhead."
"He didn't even wave back,"Grace whispered as she pouted and leaned into Diego's chest.
"They're all dickheads,"Diego snapped
"Dickheads who can fight," I clarified, as I raised a finger.
"Okay, next person to say "dickhead" is getting a punch to the throat," Five said in annoyance.
"Dickhead," I snorted, causing a chain reaction of everyone else repeating what I said, then I remembered,"Klaus, did Dad tell you why he was calling them his kids?"
"He sure did," Klaus laughed out,"you ready? Dad was so repulsed by us back in Texas, that he adopted an entirely different group of children just so that he didn't have to raise us."
"That's just peak Dad,"Diego mumbled
"Isn't it? So he just didn't want us anymore."
"Did he ever? See, I told you we shouldn't have asked him for help in '63," Allison snapped.
All this bickering wasn't improving my mood and a headache was starting to form. Keeping my eyes closed I rested my head on Diego's shoulder, exhausted with everything going on.
"Estás bien (are you okay)," Diego whispered in my ear.
I shook my head as I buried my face in his neck, pressing a gentle peck,"cansada de todo (tired of everything)."
The two of us stayed in the moment before we tuned back into the conversation.
"I think you're all missing the big picture here. If Dad didn't adopt us as kids, he changed the timeline. So who knows what else is different now."
"Shouldn't you know," snapped back Allison
"Sorry, Allison, but it might take me more than 20 minutes and a traumatic brain injury to figure this all out. Is that okay with you," Five snapped back, with even more sass.
"No, actually, it's not!"
Before any more fights could be unleashed, Vanya stepped in,"guys, look, it's fine. We still have the Commission's briefcase, so worst case, we can just go back in time and fix it."
I sighed at this sentence, the question, when was this going to end, roaming my brain. What Five said next, was even worse, stating that we no longer had the suitcase. My eyes shot open as I glared at Five.
"Five, where the hell is the briefcase," I hissed out, my fists clenched tight, the only response I received was a nervous shrug,"son of a bitch," I grumbled and carefully stood up to prevent Benji from waking up, then started walking away.
"Naomi, meine liebste schwester (my dearest sister)," Klaus dramatically called out," where the hell are you planning on going?"
I sighed to calm myself before turning to the family," look, as far as we know, we're stuck here without a briefcase. I'm not staying here looking like an idiot and like the Sparrow Academy's next target. We all need to freshen up in one way or another, for our own good and to ground ourselves from making any rash decisions. I'm going to look for a place to stay, since I doubt that I still own my apartment that still would be too small for all of us."
"She's got a point," Five sighed as he stood up next to me, I just smiled softly and pressed a kiss on the top of his head, chuckling at the annoyed groan that Five let out.
This lead to the rest of the family to follow along as we walked around the park in silence, thinking of places were we could crash.
"Why is everyone staring at us," Luther asked like an idiot.
"Because we look like the damn Village People just lost a fight," Diego answered for me.
Out of nowhere Allison just said,"I need to go find Claire. I will catch up with you guys later," before starting to walk away from the group.
"Wait, Auntie Allison,"Grace cried out,"let's get somewhere safe, clean up those cuts, and then we'll go find her."
Allison sent her a soft smile before walking back to the group, and we continued walking around.
It was very obvious that I wasn't the only one that was loosing their patience, Diego just randomly snapped out,"but honestly, what are we doing? We can't stand here bleeding out in this park. I don't know, but we better gear up fast before they come for round two."
"That's exactly what I just fucking said Diego," I snapped.
Before the two of us could start arguing, Five stepped in,"what makes you think they'll come after us in the first place?"
"Because I would."
I shrugged my shoulders and added on,"I mean, we did break into their house - our house, bust up all their nice antiques and shit.
"Yeah. I don't think the crime-fighting... super nerds are gonna let that go. Let's just think of some place off the radar where we can lie low and not draw attention," Luther suggested.
"What kind of a weird-ass place are we not gonna draw attention," Allison questioned.
Everyone turned to me and my eyes widened in offense,"why the fuck are you guys looking at me? Klaus was the twin that knew all the weird-ass locations when we were younger, I just nodded my ahead and tagged along! Look at him not me!"
So that's what the family did, putting an end to Grace and Klaus twirling around, who looked very confused on why we were all looking at him.
