CHAPTER NINE

Episode Five: Kindest Cut

     Ivy woke up the next morning, not wanting to go get breakfast as she knew her family would be there. She braced the day anyways, getting on new clothes and getting in the elevator. She got to the stairs, stopping when she saw her whole family, except Klaus, standing there. 

     "Jesus, what did I miss?" she asked, walking to Five. 

     "We're all gonna die within the week," Allison said, Ivy looking back at her. 

     "What?" she asked. 

     "I'm calling a family meeting here," Five announced, watching Lila try to go up the stairs. 

     "Ah, ah, ah. That means you too," Diego said, grabbing her and pulling her back. 

     "Where's Klaus?" Five asked, looking around. Diego looked to the elevator, seeing Stan with a bunch of cleaning supplies. 

     "I'll be right back," he said, going up the stairs. 

     "Don't leave me with your-" Lila stopped, looking around as she was alone. 

     "Dieg- Lost another. Great," Five sighed. 

     "Spit it out, Five," Allison snapped at him. 

     "Oh, well, since you asked so nicely, sister mine, our little paradox brought forth a freaking Kugelblitz," Five said, turning and looking at her. 

     "What the hell is a Kugelblitz?" Viktor asked. 

     "That is something we need to explain over drinks," Five said, walking past them to the bar. He started pouring drinks, everyone looking confused. Ivy turned and went that way, going behind the bar with him as he poured two shots in front of him, and set up a line on the bar top. He poured all of them as everyone began to gather and sit. 

     "So, this Kugelblitz, it's..." 

     "The end of everything," Five said, looking at Viktor. "Every rock, every star, every atom sucked into a radiant black hole." Ivy began to dish out the shots, Allison grabbing a bigger glass and just pouring herself her own drink. 

     "Randomly collapsing matter every moment in time across all existence till nothing's left," Lila said, sounding disappointed. 

     "Hate to say I told you so, but..." Five trailed off as Viktor picked up his shot. 

     "You love to say I told you so," he said, drinking. Five shrugged, also taking a drink. Ivy picked up her shot, scrunching her nose before setting it down again, all while Five was looking at her. 

     "You know, it's impressive," Lila said. "Whoever knocked off your mums hated you all enough to end the entire universe." 

     "We don't know that," Viktor said, looking at her. 

     "It doesn't matter who created the damn thing. We just have to kick its ass," Allison said, not even looking at them. 

     "Oh really? How?" Luther asked. "Are you and Diego gonna punch it in the Kugel?" 

     "The best plan is to go back in time and eliminate the paradox and destroy whatever it was that took out our mothers and stop the Kugelblitz before it starts, but we can't do that," Five said, nodding slightly. "Briefcase is kaput." He reached over to Ivy, picking up her shot and setting it in front of him while she looked at him in confusion. 

     "And why the hell can't you just jump us out of here?" Allison asked, sounding snappy still. 

     "Last time I tried that, we all got trapped in time. Do you really wanna risk that again?" Five asked, Allison finally looking at him.
