CHAPTER TWENTY

Ivy was walking quickly, trying to find Five on the floor. She kept walking as fast as she could, rounding a corner to see Diego walking down the hall. His eyes widened when he saw her, and she tilted her head at him.

"Where's Lila?" she asked.

"Locked in a closet," he said. "I can't risk her getting hurt."

"Hm, I wonder why that is," Ivy said, Diego looking at her in confusion as they started walking.

"What are you talking about?" he asked, Ivy shrugging at him.

"I'm just saying. Awfully rude of you to assume Lila can't hold her own when she can literally mimic all of our powers," Ivy said, Diego grabbing her arm and turning her to face him.

"You know," he said.

"What do I know?" she asked, crossing her arms.

"Come on, don't play dumb with me, you know what I'm talking about," Diego snapped. A sickle flew in between the two, making them both look to see on of the Guardians standing at the end of the hall.

"Talk later?" Ivy asked, Diego nodding. She took a step forward and sent a wave of fire directly at the Guardian, turning and running with Diego. They both ran into the elevator, watching the doors shut as she lit the rest of the hallway on fire.

"You know about the baby," Diego said.

"Oh, my god! There's a baby?!" Ivy asked, Diego's eyes widening. "Totally kidding. I know. She told me. Just wanted to see the look on your face just then."

"Then you understand why I want to protect her," Diego went on.

"Eh, not really big guy. Lila is probably the most powerful out of all of us," Ivy shrugged. "Babes got herself handled." The elevator dinged, the doors opening for them. "Also, you're not supposed to know I know. So don't say anything." He nodded, the two running out of the elevator. They walked around the corner to the stairs to see Lila and Viktor were running out.

"Klaus?" Viktor asked, rushing to him laying on the ground.

"Lila?" Diego asked, Ivy seeing Klaus.

"Klaus! Oh, my god," she said, running over with Viktor. Allison then approached them, her arm now wrapped with a bloody towel.

"Klaus! What happened? We thought you died," Allison said as Viktor and Ivy helped him up.

"If only," Klaus groaned. "Hey."

"Hey, you okay?" Ivy asked, Klaus nodding slightly.

"Yeah, I think so," he said.

"Klaus," Five said, walking up to them with cuts on his face and blood on him now.

"You look like hell," Viktor told him.

"Why don't you try killing a guardian?" Five suggested.

"We just did," Viktor responded.

"So did we," Ben piped up.

"Klaus, I thought you were dead," Sloane said, looking at him confused.

"Yes, yes, I'm alive and amazing, despite Dad's attempts to bash my brains in, but tearful reunions later. What you guys need to know right now is that Dad killed Luther," Klaus announced, all of them looking at him in confusion. "And he locked me out of the tunnel, and he rang that stupid bell!"
