6am the next morning I'm sitting by the queen. She is so beautiful. I can't help but stare.

"I wish I didn't have to leave you beautiful. But this is a good lead. We have to track him down."

I reach out and run my fingers through her hair. It feels softer.

"He'll kill them all if we don't go. They have as much of a right to be here as we do. We're all just beings."

I sit back in the chair. "This could be our chance to take him out."

I put on my tennis shoes and a t-shirt then stand up. I lean over and kiss her on the head and whisper, "I'll return shortly."

I walk out and shut the door. I can't help but wonder why it's so hard to leave.

I look over at 1 of my guards. He is wearing a basketball shorts, a tucked in t-shirt, tennis shoes, knee high socks, and a large belt with the sword hooked to it.

I blink at him a few times trying to figure out what to say. "Not sure you're going to blend in man."

He looks down at himself. "This is what we're all wearing. Is it not ok sir?"

"Try untucking the shirt."

"Like this sir?"

"Yea, that hides some of the sword at least. And you all need to grab shorter socks. Just ankle socks would probably work."

"I will spread the word sir. See you in the cars in 20 minutes."

"Ugh, we're driving?"

"Only to the airport sir."

"Ok see you in the car."

I go to the buffet and grab some eggs and toast and sit at a table no ones at. There are a few servants around but not many. A servant man comes up while I'm eating. "Good luck today sir." He sits a ring down on the table. It has a blood red stone in it. It matches the stone in the sword and the crown. "The late King Kennian asked me to make sure only the next true king gets this. I know without a doubt it's you sir."

I pick it up and put it on my middle finger. It's big but it fits perfectly. I wonder how I didn't notice it in the painting. "Thank you."

"My pleasure sir."

He turns to walk off but I stop him. "Hey, did the human village exist when the late King Kennian was in power?"

"Yes sir."

"Tell me about it."

"It was a nice place. The humans there knew what we were. But they were not afraid of us. It was the only town the servants were permitted to go. We would go shopping there. We were free to talk to them. They were happy. We were happy. King Kennian set up agreements with them. I believe he kept them safe from everyone else. They gave us blood freely. They would volunteer. Nothing was ever forced. I believe the king had friends there. He would go sometimes just to visit." He looks up from the floor at me. "I'm afraid that's all I know sir."

I twirl the ring around my finger. "How well did you know King Kennian?"

"I was one of his primary servants sir. So I would see him daily. We would play chess or other games occasionally. He was a great king. A great man, sir."

I can see his eyes getting teary. "Thank you for the information."

"My pleasure sir."

Victor walks up with an entire heaping plate of bacon. "Time to go bro."

I stand up and give his plate a weird look.

"What?  I got some bacon for the road."

Maggie and Sam are standing outside by door. Maggie has tears in her eyes and she's holding onto Sam so tight I'm not sure he can breath. Sam is standing there with a nerf gun.
