The Lost Queen -Book 1- Alden

36. Raid

I make it through the day and night ok. Someone erased Annie's number from my phone. 

We get everyone to the royal wing the next morning. I put my couch in her room beside her bed. I'm not taking a room of my own. I can't leave her.

The queens room is huge. It has it's own bathroom, entertainment center, couches, an office area, mini kitchen, and a big ass bed.

The advisors are all on the floor under us. Lots of guests rooms here. They're not as nice as the queens but still have most of the same stuff the queens room does. Bryan did an awesome job.

The next 3 weeks fly by. I still think about Annie on occasion but it doesn't hurt as much now. I wonder if she ever thinks of me. She never called. She probably doesn't even remember our night.

I get out of the shower and throw on my clothes. I need to get to class. I walk over to the princess and give her a kiss on the head. "Off to class my princess." 

She appears much better now. Her skin is starting to resemble skin again and her hair has really filled out. There's more pinkness in her lips today than there was yesterday. I run my finger over them. "I'll be back soon beautiful."

A servant girl in scrubs comes in as I'm leaving. "Good morning sir. I'm here to clean the room."

"Good morning. I'll be back in a couple hours."

"Have a wonderful day sir."

"Doubtful. End of quarter tests are today. I have 2 of them."

I go in a classroom and sit by Victor. "How's your morning going?"

"Fine. Having epic battles is funnier than going to class though."

I laugh and check my phone as Clark sits down. "You good?" He stares at me for a second. "You got that far away look again."

"I was thinking about Annie again. She never called. And 1 of you assholes deleted her number."

"It's for the best bro."

"Yea, I just wanted to check on her. I mean the bond broke on her side to right? Or was that just a me thing? It would be nice to know she's ok."

Clark nods. "She is... I called her."

"What?"

"I knew eventually you'd ask about her. She's doing fine though man. She's ok. I explained what happened with you and asked her not to call."

"Why would you do that?"

"Because of your emotional breakdown. No one wanted you to go through that again man."

"You told her I was falling in love with her?"

"I kept that part out. But I did tell her if the queens not your true mate, you will be on a plane to her within the hour and no one will be able to stop you. She laughed about that." 

I sigh. It makes me feel better to know she's ok but it would have to hear it from her.

"She understood everything man. She doesn't want you to go through all that again either. She knows it for the best and she is ok."

Victor smacks the table in front of him. "Hey get ur heads in the game. About to test. And Alden, just think about the princesses lips again."

I laugh and spit out a bit of coffee. I did tell them about her lips for 2 hours yesterday. "Ok ok... But they are more pink today."

"Ughhh." Victor makes a weird noise.

"Books and notes away now. The first hour will be the paper portion. Do your best." The professor starts passing out papers and watches the 3 of us. "And no more talking."
