I had woken up rather late that day. My nurse had come in, apparently for the second time, and chided me. "Still asleep? You were sleeping last time I came in too! Come now, wake up while I'm on my break. I want to see your reactions to my questionnssss." She sat down next to me and placed her hand on my shoulder softly. "Pleaseee."I yawned and stretched up in my bed, my eyes weerily making their way to make contact with hers.
"I brought you breakfast too. It's sitting beside you. Since it's still not a good idea to talk, I'll just ask questions and you can give me reactions."
Causally, I turn and grab the tray of food, placing it next to me.
"Okay okay," she clasps her hands together excitedly. I'm not sure if she's pretending to be interested just to talk to me or if she really is curious. "So obviously we are going to start with the easy question. How was it? Did you like the village? Is it a place you would feel comfortable living in?" That's a big question.
I give her a wide grin and nod my head. Making a slight approving grunt. My nurse's fist pumps the air, "yessss! And how was it with Kakashi? He kept you out pretty late last night. I scolded him a bit after he dropped you off. It could've stressed your body out. Was it worth it?" She becomes more teasing instead of accusing.
Rubbing the back of my neck embarrassingly, my smile gets bigger. I quickly motion towards the pen in her chest pocket. She glances at it, clearly surprised at first before handing it over. Placing the pen down on the paper, I pull away hesitating and bring the pen up to my face. Tapping and considering what the symbols look like again. I begin to draw the A and E symbol on the papers again. To be honest, I had forgotten what the third symbol was and what it looked like.
"Oooooooo he was teaching you how to write?! That's so cool! Wait," she pauses and looks at the note she left me on the tray. "You haven't been able to read any of the notes I've left you?"
I shake my head before looking at the piece of paper with unknown letters.
She facepalms slightly, "I'm sorry I should've asked. I guess I wasted paper too." She picks up the piece of paper, unfolds it, and reads a loud, "hey sweetie, hope you're feeling better and getting stronger! One of these days we need to have a girls night out in the town. So hurry up! And then I put a smiley face at the end." She folds it back up, putting it back on the tray. I find myself joyful that she wishes to spend a night out with me. I hadn't thought I made much of an impression on her. Considering I haven't been able to talk.
"Oh! Also..." she gets a smirk on her face. "You seem to take a liking to Kakashi. Perhaps," she twiddles her fingers together devilishly. "You like him?"
Do I like him? Of course I do. I trust him almost completely now. Isn't it only natural to want to be around someone you trust? Especially in uncertain situations like this. I give her a clearly confused look at first before nodding and pointing at her as well.
"Aw I know you like me too. Kakashi and I are the only ones you allow close to you. But I mean..." she looks over me, her eyes seem to soften with the light shining through the room. Seemingly changing the atmosphere as she smiles kindly. "You know what? Nevermind. I think your too innocent as you are now to be thinking about being in love with Kakashi." In love? "Either way this will save a conversation for girls night!"
Nodding, slightly dazed by her question, I decide to throw it out of my mind and eat the French toast she brought me for breakfast.
Checking her watch, the nurse quickly shoots up off the bed. "Oh darn my break ended five minutes ago." She rushes to place my meds on the counter, clean up the trash can, and scoot her supplies out the door. "Before I go, you'll have another visitor today. And no it's not Kakashi. I told him to give you a days rest. Partly as punishment for keeping you out so late. I know his mission is to watch over you or whatever, but let's be honest...it's not like you can go anywhere in your condition." I fee a bit disappointed that I won't see him today, but a spike of curiosity strikes me thinking about who the other person could be that is visiting me.
