You gazed over the clouds. Downpour and moisture licked your wounds, stinging them with water that cried at the battle. It roared, fought and ceased to become negligible. It wet the drywall powder, and hid your own selfish sweat.
You clutched the child.
While he was barely bruised from the fall, and gained a few momentary scratches, he continued to hide. He grasped at your hair, tugged at your shirt, and you let him. The boy hid from the rain, using whatever surface as a hiding spot as he shook. It could've been from fear or cold, but you were likely to think fear.
You turned your head. You faced the big boulder that split you and Adrien up, a bile of putrid curses wanted to erupt from your throat, but you let up in ironic chuckle at the inanimate object's ability to cause hatred.
With a tilt you sighed and started walking.
The question, you duly noted, was what to do? The rain continued to fall, the wind continued to howl. The superheroes fought and the villain attacked. They all had their roles to play on this disastrous day, but you were none the wiser in what to do.
Adrien you realized, was your walking stick in this situation
It was a helpless feeling that you felt in your chest, tingling with anxiety and disappointment. Adrien was a comfort, a presence that could ease anyone's minds, along with yours. It could've been for reasons outside your knowledge, but you were willing to bet it was attributed to his calm and expectant reaction in handling the situation.
BOOOOOOOOOM
Rocks flew over to houses. The villain was distracted with something, and the child cascaded closer into the pit of your neck.
You continued walking.
With him gone, and you with child no less, you didn't know what to do, where to go. He knew the area of the campus, what places to avoid, who to find; He was used to such attacks, and provided a normalcy to it.
And now, with a ponder on locations you felt your neck prickle. A decision was to be had, but neither felt more fruitful then the next.
Go left which remained in the more broken hallway?
Or go forward which has an opening to the field.
To go left would contain a shelter of the rain and the attacks. The villains wouldn't be able to spot you, but neither would firefighters or other outsiders. Who knows where it leads up to either.
You stared forward.
While the outside weather and commotion will prove to be a challenge, muddy and all, wouldn't it be better to know where the villain was? The walls and ceilings did nothing to protect you, and seemed to cause more harm than good. It was a risk...but you were willing to bet anything for your survival.
The boy pulled himself closer.
"Don't worry, miss," he began. "Ladybug will fix this." He said softly.
Ah, there it was again, Ladybug. You were starting to get sick and tired of these superheroes, of these villains. That they will fix this calamity started and provoked by them in the first place.
You decided to go forward. "How many times has this..." you shuffled towards everything. "Happened." You whispered. Your feet smooshed from the mud as it sinked in, though it didn't bother you.
"Over hundred times,"
You almost paused at that, but with the ever loud reminder of your situation you kept going. "That many times? Have they always been so terrible?"
