(A.N: Sorry about the long break, I was suffering from carpal tunnel :,) I'm all better now so take this new chapter as an apology :D)
"So we ate ice cream, watched a movie, and then he drove me home!" Karl was fangirling over me and Wilbur's night together
"Would kill for that to happen to me," he groaned. I laughed but instantly felt my stomach sink when I saw Dream walk in. I cleared my throat and Karl noticed too.
"Um table for uh," he glanced at me, "Two," he smiled
"Alright, George will walk you over," he mouthed an apology handing me two menus.
"Right this way," I motioned for him to follow
"I missed seeing you yesterday," he frowned as he sat
"Oh?" I felt my cheeks redden
"Yeah! It didn't feel the same," he shrugged with a soft smile
"Is Sap joining you?" it felt like someone was punching my guts over and over
"No," his face reddened a bit, "It was for you," he winced afraid of my reaction
"Me?!" I stuttered a bit
"Mhm! Your break is soon...right?" I felt my cheeks burn, he remembered?
"It is," I giggled and he smiled, "Let me just-" I ran to the back and hung up my apron and came back to see Dream patiently waiting. My heart fluttered as I sat next to him and he smiled. It was prettier than I remember, we caught each other taking glances. We ordered some coffee and talked. A lot. Work, movies, family, friends, topics kept pouring out with a healthy dose of banter every so often. It felt like years since the last time we could speak like this.
Even when my break was over we kept talking. Sometimes we'd glance at each other from across the diner and I'd see his eyes gaze down towards my lips and I'd catch myself doing the same. Suddenly all my brain could think about was Dream. His hair, eyes, smile, laugh, voice, it all surrounded my mind. When Dream left I walked him to the door and his hand brushed mine and I swear we both blushed. I waved goodbye until he was out of sight.
The rest of my shift I could not stop smiling, even walking home it never left. I decided to visit Wilbur, I opened up to see him sitting at the desk quietly and writing something, "Hey Will!"
"George!" I closed the journal and walked over giving me a hug
"How was work without me," I teased
"So boring," he faked cried and I punched his shoulder
"Rude," he chuckled
"What brings you in?"
"I talked to Dream!" I beamed
"Oh, yeah?" he seemed to pause a bit
"Yeah, we talked about everything," I shrugged, smiling like a dork, "I haven't felt that safe in forever," I chuckled a bit, rethinking our past conversations.
"That's great George," he smiled. I couldn't help but return it. I was so happy!
